Re: promos

Will they have any deals on my unlimited data lines, maybe like half price unlimited data. Verizon gets $535 a month from me, I would love some more discounts

Haha I would say nope. Verizon isn't going to give any deals to unlimited customers. They want you off that plan :).

Re: promos

I would take that $40 and set it aside each month and essentially self insure. You'll be much better off.

Re: promos

That is true because you may not ever even need it. If my phone dies I take that to mean it is time for a new one.

Re: promos

I'll be doing that when Verizon raises my rates to the $7 month. But for now I'll stick with the insurance. I had to replace a 3 month old note 4 this year and $99 was Lot better then $700. But yes I know it's typically better without the insurance in the long run.

Do you mind me asking what happened with the phone that you have to turn it in. I am just wondering.

Re: What are the pros and cons of Cricket Wireless?

This is heartening to hear. I'm on Straight Talk just now, but was thinking of trying Cricket since the AT&T acquisition. Also telling myself I can just leave if it is awful.

Re: What are the pros and cons of Cricket Wireless?

I've been doing this on Straight Talk with an AT&T phone. I'm assuming it would work the same on Cricket, since AT&T actually owns Cricket.

Re: What are the pros and cons of Cricket Wireless?

Pro:
Cheap.

Cons:
Everything else.

There are websites devoted to gathering complaints about Cricket service, customer service, etc. And there are thousands and thousands of complaints. If you think Verizon is bad (IMO they are), switch to Cricket and you'll wish you were with Verizon.
Couldn't disagree more. I switched from Verizon (around 10 years there) and Cricket is SOOOO much better. Service is awesome, no different than AT&T aside from the 8mb throttle, which on a smartphone is more than enough. I've contacted their support a couple times about little things here and there (new to the service) and every time I've been on the phone with a human being in less than a minute - I was NEVER able to say that about Verizon. You can also chat with them online or from your phone and they are on just about instantly there too.

I can't imagine why you would say that about Cricket; except maybe your experience with them was from 3+ years ago?

You cannot use Google Voice for voicemail on MVNO providers that do not include conditional call forwarding.

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.

Ehh; wrong...I use google voice for voicemail on my phone while on Cricket with ZERO issues. Works fine.

It took me over 40 minutes on several attempts to get through back in December. Then again, it was December.

Re: good bad and worse

I have had Sprint for 11+ years with no problems.
I am in the Atlanta area.
It definately depends on your area.

Mav.

Re: good or bad

I have had Sprint for 14 years. Yes had some bad experiences but for the most part, they have been good for me. Service is definitely improved thanks to Marcelo. They are getting there act together. Have 4G LTE in Jacksonville and is very good.
