survis question

No problem :)

Probably was me since I did post it in a few threads . I never got t-mobile service in my apartment but you do get wifi calling .

From my understanding of how frequencies work the lower ones which Verizon and AT&T use which is 700mhz is better for building penetration . T-mobile and sprint use higher frequencies which isn't as good but maybe depends on how close the tower is perhaps ?

This is somewhat true. T-Mobile has some 700 MHz .. It is not 700 MHz everywhere. It really depends on location. T-Mobile uses 700 in the markets it has it. Just like the others.

Sprint nor t-mobile have 700MHz nationally and sons wouldn't count on it yet ....and sprint is building 800MHz I think ?

re: Do you get good Service ?

He was just telling his experience and all help is needed. I have had few droped calls with vz just in my house. I guess i can experiment and have some fun. I will keep vz number and "test drive" different ones.

re: Do you get good Service ?

The phone came today.
Down the valley where my house is, I only get edge. if I drive out to the main road, I get 4G. As a drive closer to town, I get LTE speeds of 30 megabytes download. Pretty impressive. I forgot that I have an external antenna on my roof and a repeater/ amplifier that I need to try. Hopefully I can get at least 4G or 3G at my house.

Map of T-Mobile's 700 MHz spectrum - Spectrum Gateway

700 MHz (band 12) LTE network officially launched in Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Minneapolis and Washington, DC. The cities are marked with purple towers on the map. In addition to that verified user-reported sightings are marked with the same symbol.

T-Mobile does have 700 MHz. Not all over the country yet .. But before you made it sound like they had zero 700 MHz .. You didn't specify so I wanted to correct it so others wouldn't be confused thinking they had none. :).

Re: Service question

On a national level it isn't ....that's what 3-4 cities? For 95% of the people in the United States they don't ....

I know... but earlier you said they don't have any which isn't the case. So I just wanted to correct that. Since you clarified later on about being on a national level then yes .. you're right on that part :).

Tmobile has 700MHz holdings in 24 of the top 30 markets and covers over half the population.

re: Do you get good Service ?

The external antenna and repeater didn't get me to 4g. Getting 4g about 200 yards up the drive at the main road, but still stuck on 2g at my house. I'm kinda torn. Unlimited is so tempting. Maybe I'll climb up on my roof with the T-Mobile phone - move around to different locations to see what I might get.

Service question

That may be true but saying they don't own any versus them owning some is also two different things ;).

It's still not being effectively being used and I wouldn't expect 700mhz to be used for a while .... In other markets

re: Do you get good Service ?

We have no WiFi at our house.
I have to get my internet from cellular.
The other option is Satellite.
But I haven't read much good about Satellite internet Service Providers.

re: Do you get good Service ?

2g is not all that bad, it will stream pandora or Iheart radio, it won't do video streaming though. 2g is fine for calling as well

Are you sure you're commenting on 2g via being throttled down due to data usage (such as a 3 GB limit plan)? It doesn't throttle the data from those services if you go past your limit so it works fine.

Now if you mean in a true 2g area (not being throttled .. just a 2g / edge area) then it just depends on the area. I know if I am ever on E it will not stream Google Music. That is why for long road trips I download my Google Music playlists so I don't have to worry about it.

Re: Service question

Sorry for the stupid question what does the 700 mhz band do and why do we need it.

Re: Do you get good Service ?
