I would have been without an Evo mine not landed in the grass after getting accidentally thrown out of a taxi window during a drunken Jersey Shore-style 'fist pump' contest at 2:30 in the morning... talk about drunken crying...

I've dropped my phone once since I got it. It really was just a butterfingers accident, but it landed on my 9-month old cousin. Luckily, she was fine (and so was the phone,) but it was still scary for both parties of the collision.

I use the Evo as my primary alarm clock -- one weekend after a particularly rough night I decided to sleep in but my alarm went off at the usual time. My hand flew out to instinctively make it go away and I knocked my Evo right off the bed stand. Luckily it landed on my rug, but it could have just as easily landed on my hardwood floor!

...Perhaps a case is in order ;)

My son is constantly grabbing my phone and wanting to play games on it, hes dropped it in the house (on carpet) numerous times, and im lucky theres no marks yet. Just today he learned how to take pictures with it, hes only six but I encourage electronics with him, as I truely believe its going to be very important the future. A case would be a great compliment for my EVO, I just dont have the cash right now...

My story is short and sweet. I am a Police officer and countless times i have broken phones because my lack of case protection. For instance one day I was dispatched to a shoplifting in my beat at the local walmart (go figure). I arrived and saw the dude matching the suspect running through the lot. Me,the young officer that I am,...chased. leaping over car hoods, it was something out if a movie. Needless to say when the suspect wanted to fight...he kicked my vest, right where my phone goes.

I could sure use a case as i've lost about 4 phones from similar incidents.

Thanks guys,
Always stay safe...

Well my store is a sad one. As a Sprint employee, I would NORMALLY not be able to have the Evo yet but I was lucky enough to be chosen as the advocate. After weeks of using the phone at the store, I finally got to take this amazing thing home. I always talk to customers about how great Seidio cases are and how they should buy one. And how they should check out AndroidCentral.com for great tips and trick on using the best phone ever made. Well I was talking a customer outside as I was leaving for the day and my dumb ass left it sitting on the roof of the car! I know, I deserve to lose it for that stupid mistake but if I would have had this case, it would have been fine. Had to do an insurance claim on my first day. PLEASE HELP ME PROTECT THIS ONE!!!!!

I went down to a sports bar with some friends the other day to watch the the Spain v Uruguay World Cup match. Of course the place was crazy packed, it was not a safe environment for my EVO. After a few beverages, my friends and I were talking about our days of playing soccer. I started talking about how amazing these players were, and started talking about how phenomenal they are at juggling the ball. Literally not 10 seconds after I get done talking about these players, someone knocks my elbow, and I just happen to be holding my EVO at the time. I drop my phone on to what should have been a hard, tiled floor. Instead, by sheer luck I put my foot out and catch it on the top of my foot. There is no way in a million years I could recreate that, but it saved me from crying in front of everyone at the bar.

My friend with an iPhone 4 is jealous of my Evo and tried to throw it on the ground!
I caught it before it hit the ground! Whew

Gonna need a good case in case that happens again! ;)

While walking my dog through the park, I was perusing some MLB scores on my EVO when my dog had to take care of some business. Once he was done, I put my phone into my front shirt pocket, bent over to clean up his business. Yep, such "sh--ty" luck (pardon the pun), my EVO slipped out of my pocket and landed right in the nice steaming pile. Wiped as much as I could onto the bag, but the crap was smudged onto the camera lens too. Ran three blocks home so I could disinfect it with some Clorox wipes. Was bit icky to use for a few days because I swear the stink was still there. Anyways, I'm sure a case would've kept the crap off the phone and made it a whole less stinky.

So I had cheap plasticy case on and that thing broke after a couple of days. My naked EVO sitting there thinking life is good until my friends drooling/playing around with my EVO almost dropped it but and my heart was in my mouth... Looking for a better case since got my EVO. Verdict: Some other case -1, Seidio case (eventually) +1

I am a superhero. My superhero attire only has one pocket and it is on my chest (left side).
I responded to a bank robbery the other night and landed in front of a police officer about to take a bullet. I bulged out my chest as I always do so that I can direct the ricocheting bullet. The bullet struck my Evo. I was devastated as I pulled the mangled Evo from my pocket. I was angry! I lit into the robber with lightning speed inflicting the same damage on him as he did to my phone. I then flew away and with mangled phone in my arms. Then I wept. I ask you, Who is more deserving of a Seido case than a superhero?

So today I was at the Miami Heat event welcoming home the 3 kings and while I'm recording the intro my friend jumps up in excitement, knocks the phone off my hand, and phone falls from the front row to the floor. Luckily I picked it up and it was all good, the phone even kept recording, thats when I knew I am in desperate need of a case!

Here is a pic of the event! :)

Case Preserved my Evo in the street!

I am one of the most carefullest people when it comes to my phone, but accidents happen. A couple weeks ago I got home late and went in my house and went to bed. Upon waking up the next morning I realized my phone was not in the house... I promptly retraced my steps and found it laying out in the street in front of my house. To my amazement it was still laying right by my car and in one piece by not powered on. I took it back inside and examined it. I figured the tire mark on the back of the phone was a bad sign. So the phone had to be replaced through Sprint Insurance. If I had had a good Seidio case my original phone probably would have been spared.

Please prevent another tragedy

So, one of the gifts we gave to our 18 year old son for HS graduation is an Evo. He is an offensive lineman and we have since learned why he does not handle the ball! So he is transferring the phone from the front seat of his 1999 pre-runner to his pocket and decides a short cut off the concrete would be best. It turns out when you use a cheap case purchased at a mall kiosk, there is no real protection. The only thing holding the shattered glass together is the plastic screen protector. The phone still works and responds. We have another one ordered through the insurance, so that is $100 .

How great would it be to protect the new one with a quality case! He'll make a big hole in the D-line for you, just don't hand him the ball/unprotected phone.

Please don't let this happen to the next EVO.

While my 5 year old was watching some Sprint T.V. on this huge screen at a local restaraunt, my phone was knocked off of a high rise table falling straight to the tile floor. I was lucky enough to find it in one piece when I picked it up but I don't know if I will be that lucky again.

close call

i have had my evo since day one and luckily no drops, until the other day when me and some friends were hanging out by the pool drinking on a 100 degree day, my friends decided to be funny and pick me up with the chair i was laying in and throw me in the pool, luckily my phone fell through the chair onto the concrete (better then coming with me in the pool), to my amazement, it only had a couple scratches on the plastic rim of the screen, oh and they did get the payback they deserved

Hey i own SDX Developers who started off as a Samsung moment site but has turned into an all around android/sprint development site.
Have a horror story not about my evo but about my old moment, which caused me to purchase my new evo...

I use to keep my cell phone on my nightstand to charge, one day my cat (Sammy or as everyone on SDX knows her as "The CAT") decided she wants to stare out of the window, so she pushes my laptop out of the way.. The problem is the cell phone was sitting at the edge of the laptop so as she pushed it it pushed th ephone right off the nightstand and hit my wood floors... The first time it was fine, but the next time it happend 1 hour later, i picked up my phone to see the horrors of a shattered screen (stupid capacitive glass).. Well sprint wouldnt replace it or anything so i ended up getting an evo... Could use a case to ensure this doesnt happen to my brand new evo tho!

I work in construction and am often elevated off the ground , (ladder, lift or scaffold) I have busted screens on 3 dumbphones and in the month that I have had the evo already had a few near misses.

With all the new phones going to (tempered) glass screens.. were going to see a lot more one time phone drops destroying phones.

These cases are really sweet!

I'm not going to lie - I am horrible with technology. Whether it is by my absence of mind or just having a cursed life, I am destined to maim any technological device that comes into my possession.

My previous phone made contact with concrete within the first day of possession, and has crashed to the ground like a meteorite from heights of 8 to 10 ft. a total of at least 30 times.

Enter my HTC Evo. Hands down, after five minutes of having my phone I knew that it was my soul mate. So you can imagine how much I wanted to protect it. Unhappy with the selection of cases in the stores, I told myself I will wait to buy a good case online. Right. Within an hour, my curse struck. Sitting in class, I had put my Evo down on the table. Not but thirty seconds later my professor tells us to pull out a sheet of paper. I see paper on the table and I reach for it, whipping it towards me. But in my absent mindedness it didn't seem to register with me that my phone was sitting on that paper until I saw it pirouetting through the air before my eyes. It grabbed enough air to make Shaun White proud before pulling a Greg Louganis straight into the floor. Needless to say, I am happy I have insurance.
