Could the Pixel 3XL even offer anything that would make you wanna trade your Note 9 for it?

Because all forum members are allowed to post their thoughts anywhere. Having said that, none of the points being made in this thread are anything new. We know some like certain things while others don't.

I was asking why they personally post here, having nothing to gain about a product they have no interest in. Doesn't make sense to me, but whatever floats their boat. I don't go posting on Apple forums about how I feel their phones are stupid.

I was just thinking. I came from a Google Pixel 2XL and it was great at first, but after a while, it felt bland and boring.

I'm absolutely loving my Note 9, but I was curious if there woul be at part of the Pixel 3XL that would make you even think about trading?

Also, do you think there would even be a good trade in value (promo, or otherwise) for an Unlocked 512GB Note 9 at Best Buy or Verizon?

Totally agree, there are always issues with new updates. I am never in a rush for them

I fully understand why you're asking.
Then we would have to ask the same question of everyone who doesn't own a particular phone why they post in that forum. That's just the way it is and it's still great to discuss different viewpoints because someone is bound to learn something. The problems start when people start to take negative comments about a phone personal or become dismissive of other people's ideas and opinions.

Nope starting with one of 3 but of course I'd buy another if I hate the first one. Seems like the 512 XS plus will be the first I can actually lay my hands on so that will win. I'd also buy the Apple watch so I'd be pretty tied down to it. VZW told me no 512 Note 9 until 2nd or 3rd week in October. I can probably buy the iPhone tomorrow

I'd still prefer the VZW Note 9 512 if it were only available. I have no interest in the unenrolled version. The N9 is already beginning to drop in price too. The iPhone never will but that Apple watch is pretty cool. I'd buy both but Xfinity Mobile has totally screwed their Unlimited users by limiting mobile hotspot speeds and 480p max streaming video in LTE

I was going with iPhone at Xfinity and Note at VZW. Now I have no interest in Xfinity.

I doubt the camera will be any better. Maybe the software but you can download Google camera software. The pixel line is hideous. No way. And stock is boring.

In fairness it will get more hours with screen on or off due to software. It does come with 512 internal which I can't get in an available N9. It works with Apple pencil. I thought it DID have stereo speakers? I use Bluetooth headphones. I do not use external sd. I would prefer fingerprint to facial id but. I prefer Apple watch to any watch for Note 9. To me it's a push. I would buy the 512 VZW Note9 tomorrow but it's not available. I will soon check if iPhone is.

LOL have you ever even used a Pixel? These are FAR from a "mid-range" device. I still use a Pixel 1 and I have seen 0 lag after 2 years, and the camera is STILL better than the newest iPhone. No phone has the bells & whistles of a Note, and that's a feature not a bug. Note 9 is chock full of bloat and will no doubt suffer the same Samsung slowdown as every other Galaxy phone out there.

I've always found it interesting how some people call Samsung apps, on a Samsung phone, bloat. How can that be? Wouldn't the doubled up Google apps, like calendar & messaging, etc, actually be the bloat?
Do you have a Note 9? Because I do, and it is not "chock full of bloat".

Yes. Camera, better security, better support lifecycle for both security and updates, better software (IMO), better charging solution, better design visually (IMO), better handling of data from a privacy standpoint, unlimited photo storage, better adoption rate of new Android features, less bloatware, fewer redundant apps, etc.

The one things the Note 9 have that I would want on the Pixel 3 XL are 1) the top of the heap display quality, matched only by the iPhones, which also use Samsung displays and 2) huge amount of storage option.

That's a serious physics trick if can be hidden Unless meaning the top two corners are blank to make it look flush. Either case, that area of the display is useless for media or games.

That area is useless, but it's still adding the 50ish pixels that are normally used for the notifications/status icons back into usable space, for a small net increase of usable area.
