Is it possible to include both scripting engines and examine the script to determine which engine to run it under?

That is what froyo does but it seems there is an updated version in 3.0, which completely removes the old one. I *might* try to hack it into CWMA at a later date but I'm fixing to take another break for a while. I overwhelmed myself with all these updates at once.

At least it wasn't a total fail, we have Xionia 009 and CWMA .5 now :)

Like I said, I'd rather everyone expect me to release nothing, then be surprised when I do. If people expect me to release a .6 with a fix or a new nightly then it is more like a job than a hobby.

No, I can understand (I volunteer my free time too, just not here :P).

Just wish they would have a bit more backwards compatibility in these things, I've never really liked the idea of getting rid of something just because you don't like it, especially if it's used a lot. Support it, encourage people to stop using it, and if it's really outdated eventually the vast majority will use the new method and you'll wind up being able to remove the old stuff anyways, without causing as many problems. Like say, breaking every other ROM for a device while you're still trying to get their ROM to a point where it could be submitted as an official port...

I hear everything you are saying, man. Enjoy your games, not much of a gamer myself, or I would have to find and destroy you in some other platform, Modern Warfare, God's of War, etc. Have fun, btw, I get a kick out of some of your rants on twit.

haha thanks zefie. gets some rest like u said its for the fun of it thanks for the great roms so far. even as annoying as it is with the few things that dont work i find myself flashing back to ur stuff anyway. im sure u feel the same way and go crazy when u cant fix those issues.

Alright, had a random idea. Keep in mind I understand absolutely nothing about update scripting, so I might be wrong about it...

But why not just take the meta-INF folder from an older version and patch it in to the new version?

Tried it myself and it seems to boot fine, so uploading what I got to mediafire and will post a link when it's done (not doing dropbox like Zefie I'm only getting about 20kbps on it D:). Anyone see any obvious reasons that I might be missing where this won't update it properly? (I did do a system wipe before flashing it)

i think they tried though, amend was depreciated way back in DONUT, yet we still use it today. wtf.

I like to see others in the hacking spirit ;)

Guess they're trying to force it out then for some reason :P

Anyways:

update-cm-7-03142011-NIGHTLY-thunderc-Xionia-signed-1.zip

Should be the latest version of the ROM, no idea what got changed between this and the last version. Some of those changes may be broken if the old script didn't work properly (which I kind of halfway expect) :P

EDITEDIT: Also not noticing any problems without wiping data, though ymmv

I tried the 0314 release and it said something like it couldnt find backup.sh

As I said in another post about it, you'd need to disable signature verification otherwise it will generate an error. You can do that, or Zefie has said he's going to sign it himself and release it, so I assume a link from him will be coming soon :P

Please download the signed version from the OP. And be sure to click to trekkie's post and click the Thanks button! I was too frustrated to even bother to look into fixing it.
