Way to go I never expected there to be a Gingerbread port for the S and I am loving it! This makes me not miss my EVO as much....for now.

I just wiped cache and flashed 16 and all went well

Q: Is there any more themes out there for the built in "theme chooser" ?

Search for ricardo cerqueira in the market. He has some, they work well except for that sometimes the launcher color does not change, everything else does.

You got it! yes, to get the market, you need GApps. People say it's best to flash GApps immediately after CM7, so...
1. Wipe everything.
2. Flash CM7.
3. Flash GApps.

I just stumbled upon an app in the market called "Carrier Name". Reading comments, people have had mixed results, but it looks like it works with CM

Count me in as another who got stuck at the LGMobile screen, (flashes first the LG screen, then a color LGMobile screen, hangs there). Two wipes did not fix, but a full wipe, dalvik wipe, and then format /system, (under Mounts and Storage), did, (as others have found...).

Edit: And THANKS Zefie!!!!!!! You rock. Forget "Beta"....I'm running this as my full time ROM now...

no... you wipe everything. Do this either through custom recovery (wipe cache, wipe data, and format system) or flash the "wipe" zip posted in this thread.

Then flash CM once, GApps once.

Most custom recovery (if not all, including mine) have a bug with the CM7 nighty's that does not properly wipe /system.
This can leave leftover files that we had removed, which can cause trouble with the new files.
THEREFORE please use the following method to flash each new NIGHTLY:
1) Flash Debug-FormatSYSTEM.zip
2) Then flash the currently NIGHTLY
3) flash GApps
4) reboot

Try the "wipe/factory reset", then wipe Dalvik, (under advanced), then flash the "Wipe system.zip" file, then flash CM7. Alternately, instead of flashing the wipesystem.zip file, go into the "mounts" menu, and select "format /system". Doing the factory wipe, a dalvik wipe, and system format got me out of the LGMobile screen.

As far as your question goes, try a fresh wipe and flash.

This isn't a final release, so there are going to be bugs - there's a link to report them on the first post. Keep in mind that too much info is better than not enough.

edit : I didn't have trouble updating, and my file's MD5 shows as...
