Just started testing the rom and I must say its pretty nice. There are a few bugs (bluetooh and swype) that might make me go back to thunder

I love the "Volume attenuation" built into CM7 though... is there anyway to boost the ringer volume in other roms? sorry if there is a reliable app out there that I'm not aware of.

Thanks!

Coming from a windows mobile world PRL updates usually wouldn't stick from flashing rom to rom. I would have to update the PRL after each flash. Does android store the PRL somewhere else once updated? I guess I didn't think we could flash back to TR update PRL and go back to CM7...

"Volume attenuation?" Like it reduces the MP3 volume to give Nav volume the priority?

Hey guys

Any time I get a missed call, or a voice mail left on my phone
I get a text msg from 9016 telling me that I missed a call and to dial a 800 number to get it?

Did I screw something up, im good at that!

9016 is just how Sprint pushes the voicemail to VVM.apk. You can blacklist it with handcent or other apps. Other than that you can uninstall sprint vvm and dial into your voicemail. It's normal happens on all phones.

I just switched over from ThundeROM 1.7. I was quite happy with ThundeROM, but I figured I'd do a backup and then see what CM7 was all about. I'm pretty impressed with what I see so far. This thread is a big unwieldy, but the search feature exists for just such threads. I couldn't get my screen to come back up during a call, but I switched on the "always use proximity sensor" setting and then found the "swype finger across sensor" fix, and all is good there. Bit bummed about no visual voice mail, but the text message notification works well, and I made a direct-dial shortcut to my own number that works as a voicemail checker. I saw the workaround (pull vvm.apk out of ThundeROM, then block the text), but I'm OK with how it works now.

I still get the "LG Logo Hang" bug when completely powering down and turning back on that I got in ThundeROM after the VC update, but I'm well versed in getting around that.

One thing that will take a bit of getting used to is the screen lock. In ThundeROM, hitting the unlock button took me directly to the PIN entrance screen. In CM7 I have to do a separate unlock action after turning on the screen to get to my PIN entrance screen. I figured out that I can set the menu to unlock the screen and that button also turns on the screen, but I'm used to the power button doing that. No big deal, just a difference.

There are a few apps that I purchased (MLB At Bat 2011 is the primary one) that doesn't show up in the Market as an option to redownload, but I'm thinking maybe it isn't available for Android 2.3. I'll investigate further.

Other than these minor things, this is awesome. Everything is so quick, and it's awesome knowing I'm running the latest and greatest. Hopefully I can do my small part of helping to test and whatever else is needed to continue this effort.

Basically, this is a long-winded way of saying THANK YOU!!!!

Was able to get visual voicemail to work today by doing the following:

From XDA

1. Go to your VVM
2. Press Menu and choose "Compose"
3. For recipient To:__________ type in "activate@vvm.sprint.com" (no quotes)
4. Press Record then Stop
5. Send (you may have to make a display name.
6. Reboot

thanks alot for all your hard work and info. now my phone is so much better than it couldve been

I found cyanogenmod for my g1 in February got a mt3g a week later, and cyanogenmod for it too, so when I got my OS there was just one thing I wanted and couldn't get, until now.

Hi all. Thanks again to zefie and the devs for their continued awesomeness.
Quick question : Has anyone figured out how to use headphones for calls? I can listen to music, stream radio, get notifications thru the headphones but when I try to make / receive calls, I have to unplug the headphones and use the handset.
Thank you, in advance, for your help.

That would be issue #24 in the issue tracker:
Issues - optimus-s-cyanogenmod - Project Hosting on Google Code

I don't talk on the phone enough to make this a big issue, but when I happen to talk to my Mom (or more appropriately, be talked to by my Mom), I'm going to miss the headset...my arm will get tired after the first hour or so.

Does it matter which vvm we use I liked the stock one.

Thanks ccrs8 and LOL. Funny enough, i tend to make calls most often when i am walking down the streets of Chicago... Holding the phone to my head makes it less convenient LOL

the lack of swype is not a bug. I'm not LGE I do not have a license to put it in my rom.

not sure if this is an issue with this rom but when using google maps it tracks me fine but when i try to search something it starts but never finds anything. just looks like i never did the search to begin with.

also wondering if the sound quality with music has been fixed. it sounds much better now but i haven' touched the dsp app afraid to actually scared that the sound will get messed up again.

Open maps, press the menu button>>directions enter address. Works that way

thanks just read on the app review it seems others are saying the same thing that it wont bring up search results. maybe a fix will be released.

Just flashed the new nightly today and noticed that my clock in my notification clock says 3:58 while the one on my lockscreen says the correct time which is 9:58 is anyone else having this issue and are there any possible fixes
