Will thunderom work with the VC version?

KYsmith, I installed Handcent and it brought back the standard android keyboard with the numbers on the top keys. Or have I just had too many beers today?

did you try holding down the input box and selecting input method then android keyboard??? I had the same problem a while back and it was just that the input wasn't changed for handcent..

From what I've read and understood ThunderROM, nROM, and LEGO rom are only compatible w/ V8 and V9 updates, so I think the answer to your question is no.

VCRom is your only option for now, but I'm hopeful for the VC upgrade when the ROM's come out w/ a new release. I haven't heard if thats the developers plans or not yet thought.

Pull it out the zip for the rom and push it to system/app. Im not going into full detail because it's swype

Trom installed the Gingerbread keyboard on Optimus. So yes I already new how to switch input method.
There is not much differance between the two but the size of keys. Unfortunately the GB disables the "voice button on side" of phone with android keyboard but it does work with swype keyboard and call features. :'(

Today I keep getting updated notifications from I think sprint. I already have my phone model d to thonderom but I am wondering if it is trying to update the firmware. After the update trays I get this msg..."Build:EA-thunderc-1.1.0-GNM
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E: No signature (143file)
E: Verification failed
Installation aborted"


Dose any one know what I have to do to get the update??? And if I have to install the ariginal firmware can I put the thonderom back on?? Please and thank you so much

Allen369, please read through the forums some. This has been asked and answered time and time again. The update is not compatible with any rom yet. You will need to go back to stock to update. There is a fix to stop the update message if you search a little. And if you do update after going to stock, thunder rom 1.6.2 and earlier versions wont work with it.

question. if TR 1.5 worked really good for me, and i want to flash back down to 1.5 from 1.6.2, do i need to wipe my stuff?

This is incorrect. nRom has been updated to be compatible with the VC update. There is also VC Rom and another one that was released today. This thread is supposed to be about tRom though, which from what I read is also in the process of being updated.

I apologize for that inaccurate info. I didn't realize nrom had been updated. I know this one is in process of an update.

I actually restored my originaly image. accepted the update came up with the same error as Allen369 on the recovery screen. Choose reboot system and it came back up. Ran z4root and it rooted, then booted to thunderom. No nag and everything is good to go. One thing I did not do was wipe the suggested folders.

So your saying you updated to stock VC then rooted and are now running ThundeROM again?

A little info for any that want to try cause it's devices and we can stop you.lol
I updated to VC and then installed 1.6.2, you will more then likely have the hands free pop when your phone first reboot let it do it's thing then go in and try updating profile and prl.
I also reverted back down applied VC again installed 1.6.2,this time i cancelled the hands free,this was not the best idea i had.lol You will only have 1x, so don't cancel it if it pops up on you just wait till its done.
If you do decide you want to try Thunder after you have updated to VC then i highly suggest that you make a nadroid backup in case you start to have problems of any kind.
We are working on a update to bring all the new stuff into thunder. At this time we don't have a deadline or a time frame because we don't want to say hey it will be ready the day before last or anything like that because we won't rush testing and tweaking.We don't feel that would be fair to you the user.As soon as something is ready for release will get it posted.

That's something you would really have to test out for yourself i haven't ever went backwards so i couldn't honestly tell you. I don't really see why it would be a problem except some thing in data/app might give you problems. They best thing i could tell you is make a nadroid backup and give it a try.

Make a nandroid, back up apps (titanium or mybackup), wipe, then try.
