Delivery delay

I ordered the g5 from Amazon uk, 1 month ago. It was going to be delivered tomorrow 8 April, had am an email today saying it would come until 22 April, blaming their supplier, which I assume is LG. Now I'm thinking this is because they either can't keep up with demand or they realise they are having production problems and have stopped production until they have sorted the problem out. I hope the latter.

For your sake I hope the later. Always frustrating to have a phone delayed, but if that means you get a better batch then I think it is worth it

Hope that doesnt happen to me. I pre-ordered from EE rather than buying on amazon, purely for the hope of getting the free B&O speaker and headphones. They originally said 1st April, then 8th April. I wondered if that delay was due to the quality issues with early units. Haven't heard a thing from them though, but will be a bit disappointed if I don't get it tomorrow. I'm bored of waiting now :-)

Funny, I had preordered from EE and got it on the 1st. Unfortunately my phone had terrible backlight bleed so sent it back.

There doesn't seem to be a delay buying from a carrier in the U.S.

No G5 for me today. EE shop doesn't have it yet, and they don't have any ETA. It just turns up when it turns up.

Anyone in the UK get theirs today ?

I preordered from o2 the end of last month and received my phone on the 8th with overnight shipping, including some free b&o £150 headphones voucher. O2 is also out of stock now from what I saw with orders shipping april 16th or so. On the o2 website i noticed orders were out of stock with late shipping a few days ago so it maybe just a stock problem. Amazon doesn't have the exclusivity as contract phone carriers probably so are probably placed on a lower tier when it comes to supply. Amazon also has a more liberal return/refund policy that is very soft compared to most companies so it is something to take into consideration if the distributor is trying to fill demand with the carriers first.

I sent an email to LG UK asking about any delays they might know of, got a reply today saying, 'LG have not had any set backs or delays, any delay is down to the retailer having low stocks' So it looks like the G5 is selling better than any of the retailers expected, at least here in the UK anyway.

Just had another email off Amazon UK, delivery delayed again, this is getting beyond a joke. I ordered this in March, LG blamed Amazon for the delay but the second delay must surely be down to supply problems from LG.

In my country (croatia) we have 4 date delays. 6, 12, 25 now is 02.05
I dont like first series of the phones, hope that i will get 3, 4 series.

That's annoying. I got mine from EE on Friday. They had it for a few days, but were waiting for the speaker and headphones to turn up, and they didn't. In the end got the phone for £399 on payg given there were no goodies, which is a pretty good price.

If you get bored of waiting for Amazon, you may want to try Carphone Warehouse. Apparently their phones are all unlocked anyway. Or you can try and get it from an EE store if they have stock for £399, just topup £10 to meet the minimum, then you don't have to use the SIM card again. Even paying EE to unlock it (assuming you are on another network) might be cheaper than what you paid amazon, assuming you can cancel that order.

Thanks for the info. I left orange a few years ago because they wouldn't unlock my phone, no matter how hard I tried, vowed never to use them again because of it. The G5 is meant to be coming on the 26/4, I'll wait until then before deciding. Clearly other countries are having delays as well from what Bruno said above, so looks like LG aren't being honest.

So I finally got my gold G5 today 18 days late and Amazon UK as part of a promotion are giving me a pair of B and O ear phones worth £150, nice bonus. Phone looks great quality no build quality issues for me. Feels heavy but when you tap it, it doesn't sound or feel metal but when you take the battery out you can see on the inside it clearly is.

Yes.... This phone is much better than the shoddy reviews by people who think they are experts at everything. It has its drawbacks like everything else on the market but it's still a great phone.

I ordered 2 each about a month ago from my Swedish supplier Tele2. Was supposed to be delivered two weeks ago. Still no phone, they say that the supplier have delivery problems.
