Do any Note 8 fans want the Note FE instead?

I've heard a rumor that the Note 7 will come back as the Note FE, with a 3200mah battery, instead of the 3500 one. Specs are otherwise still the same as the Note 7. The price is supposed to be much less than the Note 7's original cost. Would any of you Note 8 fanboys go for the 5.7" screen instead of the humongous 6.3"?:p

Hell. No. No. Absolutely not. Never. No how. Can't happen. Won't happen. Terrible idea. Worst idea ever. No. Hell. No. Not under any circumstances. Rather use a flip phone. Throw it on the ground. Also, no.

This sums up my feelings.

Please tell me how you really feel.Lol

Define much less.. I paid $300 on contract for the note 7 at release.

I think bringing it back is a bad idea. Samsung, count your blessings that the recall went well, and while the ordeal dinged your reputation, your fan base is still very loyal to you. Take a nickel's worth of free advice: don't tempt fate.

I wouldn't mind when early rumors were saying it was going to sell in the $500 range. I don't like the idea of a smaller battery but I guess it would be something I'd live with for the price and to also have a note in the size I want over the Note 8 size. At $600+ ... not so sure.

Rumor is that they may sell in China so if that's the case, I have someone in China over the summer that I might see if they could bring one back to the states for me if I really wanted one.

Small battery but it was arguably the best phone of the year before the recall. I don't understand why people that against it when people were spending close to the same amount to get a Note 5 when they had to return their Note 7 and find a fallback phone and I would say the Note 7 is a better phone than the Note 5. And around $400 cheaper than the upcoming Note 8, I could live with what it doesnt have over the 8.

Most likely won't work on Sprint or Verizon (won't matter for a lot of people, but for over half of US consumers, that matters). The rumors I saw indicated around $700 price tag, which is pretty different so not sure what's correct there. I have zero faith it'll be supported any longer than the S7 devices, which means it's not worth buying in 2017. It's still unable to fly, etc. It's still the worst device of 2016 (yes, it sounded awesome on paper, but the real thing was absolutely horrible). The S8+ exists and is a better device (better than the Note 7 or the same as it on every line item except S-Pen), the Note 8 will exist and will be a better device in every imaginable way. For non Samsung options, the G6, U11, Pixel XL, iPhone 7+, V20 and possibly the OnePlus 5 are already better devices, available now without any hassles. We're two months away from the next season of devices which will introduce 4-5 more devices that are much better.

That's a few reasons.

The iFixIt teardown on the Note 7 shows a battery that is surprisingly easy to replace, so, yeah, the smaller battery doesn't scare me that much as long as I know a year down the road I can replace it when the battery life starts to diminish. I'd cough up $400-500 for one pretty readily knowing I could get a few years of good service out of it at a cost of a new battery every year or so.

I agree if closer to the $700 number then I'd pass. $5xx... I'd consider. It will have Nougat 7.1 and even the S8 don't have it yet so if they didn't give O in future I'd be ok with living with it for a year or two... not like Samsung is fast and great with updates anyways.

A lot of nice devices you mentions with no argument there... but if you want a phone with a pen... there is no other besides LG and Note 8 for the price. There could be issues with support or hassles maybe on the plane so if you buy then be aware... but again if the price is right you have to weigh those things. iPhone really needs to surprise us with Apple Pencil support on the iPhone 8.

I agree with Nate - I'd still have my Note 7 if they hadn't taken it away from me. For a lower price, it would be a great way to carry me into the Note 9 or whatever... I'm already pretty depressed with what I've seen about the 8 even if they have been only leaks and renders! Living with an S7 Active and NO PEN is wearing on me!!!!

I want one, but with limited availability and probably very difficult to get in the US, I'll just get a Note 8.

Here's the point. The Note 8 is not a phone, it's a mini tablet. If you want to carry it in the street, you'll need a backpack. Samsung went from 5.7" to 6.3". THAT'S THE POINT!!!
The 5.7 N7 was 153.5 x 73.9
The 6.2 S8+ is 159.5 x 73.4

The screen size change is mostly due to aspect ratio change. The narrower bezels make up for a lot of it. Overall, the 8 series is a little taller, and slightly more narrow than the previous Note. You make it out to be much more than it is.

I expect the N8 won't be much different than the S8+. If the N7 was okay for you, the N8 will be close in overall size.

I've held both phones. Imho, the S8 size would be ok for the Note 8, but the S8+ is just too big. The screem size is mostly due to the fact that they made the flipping phone bigger, period!!!

That's good. In fact, it pleases me very well to see more 6"+ phones coming out this year. Lets hope this continues!
