If phone is powered off and i plug into to charger it boots up automatically? cant charge while powered off. any one have any ideas?

That's normal operation for the CM7 ROM.

Re: For all of you guys wanting to change the wake buttons...

There have been many requests by people to change which keys wake the phone. Mainly, to have it function like Reborn where only the Power key wakes the phone. You're going to need a file manager where you can edit text in system files, like Root Explorer.

Go to your file manager, then: system / usr / keylayout
Open thunder_keypad.kl in a text editor.

You only need to change the following keys, this is how they are set up when you open up the file:
key 158 BACK WAKE_DROPPED
key 230 HOME WAKE
key 229 MENU WAKE_DROPPED
key 139 MENU WAKE_DROPPED
key 102 HOME WAKE
key 217 SEARCH WAKE_DROPPED

Edit the above keys to match how they are changed below. All you are doing is deleting either "WAKE", or "WAKE_DROPPED". It's that easy.
key 158 BACK
key 230 HOME
key 229 MENU
key 139 MENU
key 102 HOME
key 217 SEARCH

Save the file. Reboot, enjoy

If anyone is interested, I can make a flashable zip that will change these keys automatically from the recovery menu.... I won't make a new thread for it at this point. Just gauging the feedback. If you guys want it, I'll put it together, otherwise, no reason to put it together.

Not a problem at all. I've been using all of these great ROMs and hacks and themes from people that put so much time into all of this, it's time I did something to help out!

I use Smart Keyboard Pro, I think it's the best one out there. However the voice input doesn't work on CM7, is there any way to get this to work?

download soundback, talkback, and kickback from market and try again

Did it but still not working. I tried to uninstall and re-install but still not working.

Hmmm. That's what controls the voice input to text. Maybe its another issue?

i'm pretty sure talkback etc. are for text-to-speech, not speech-to-text.
try installing google voice search.

Is there any way to re-assign Google Voice Search to the button on the side of the phone, right above the camera button?

There's already a flashable zip for CM7 in the reborn thread and also this thread to make the keys not turn on the phone? I missed it.

I've been trying but the issue that Voice Search is technically not a core app, thus the button handler is in the app itself. If Voice Search was open-source, I could make it work but it is not.

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to map buttons to specific app activities either.

Dang...I rooted my dad's phone and he was kinda disappointed that the button quit working, little did I know that was his favorite feature!! Hehe....
