Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

Has anyone notice that the phone will ring or vibrate on its own but you can't answer then phone because no phone call shows up
I had this problem but it seemed to go away with the last stable update.

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

I made the change from RebornROM to this build. I love the functionality, but is there anyway to get better battery life out of this ROM?

Thanks.

Chris

half thinking about going back to ReBorn....it was so much faster booting up.

I just came back from Reborn but this time I don't have near as many apps installed, and now it loads just as quick as Reborn. I think when you load down the apps and they are stored on the sd card it takes a while.

Still, IMO a small pricey to pay for the customizations available on this Rom, and the quickness of how it runs the rest of the time.

For me, battery life was slightly better on Reborn and Reborn is much more solidly stable for the general user. CM is more for the tweaker who is more interested in the details and the guy who wants their phone to run like a s.o.b.!

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

Anyone else had a problem with any of the hard keys waking the phone up when you don't want them? I've changed it so only the unlock button on the top of the phone should wake it, yet any key that's pressed will wake it.

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

I'm unable to send MMS since flashing to newest stable build. Noticed the APN is for TMobile...not sprint. Any help on how to change APN.xml for Sprint?

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

OK, one more question. My voicemails are not going through to Google Voice and instead, callers are getting a message asking them to enter the number they wish to call followed by the pound key. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Google Voice to no avail. Not it can't verify my phone number after the "create a pin" screen. Any ideas?

Follow these entire instructions:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...oogle-voice-sprint-have-separate-numbers.html

Also, least time I flashed this rom I was having some big issues. On this flash by before flashing I wiped EVERYTHING twice and flashed the debug.zip twice. This time all of my previous bugs are gone.

You will need to reflash from a fresh wipe. After you wipe dalvik, cache, and system, flash this: http://db.tt/SI1Vwx2 then flash the ROM and then gapps and anything else you want to flash. This will properly wipe the system so that you don't experience anymore weird issues as you are experiencing.

Pro tip: Custom Recovery doesn't properly clear the system files and leaves leftover files that cause glitches and unexplained issues. Flashing this file fixes that. ;)

This is in your settings on Google Voice. You have to set it to "ring straight through"
Log on to your GV account on a pc.
Click on the 'settings' gear thing.
Click 'Voice Settings'
Click on the 'Call' tab. Not really a tab, but where a tab would be, if it were a tab. haha
Turn 'Call Screening' off.
Edit: I just re-read your post. I think I'm going in the wrong direction. Sorry.........

Has anyone notice that the phone will ring or vibrate on its own but you can't answer then phone because no phone call shows up
This is usually due to numbers being added to the blacklist and then they call.

The stable ROM runs so nice, I did have trouble when I restored data from Titanium backup for some reason I must have some app or setting that made v2 reboot a lot, did a clean install and installed all of my apps again from market except for a few like K9, and this thing runs amazing now, I really like my phone again!

I just realized i cant send large SMS messages?

Is this something to do with my settings in cm7?

Its all text, not even images. I tried on the stock messaging and handcent and it wont send.

You must choose to split large messages. Its a issue with cm7.

There is a thread labeled remap your hardware keys in this forum look for it, I would... but I'm too lazy =P there is a flashible zip with the contents of what you desire.

Eh got lazy so I grabbed the link for ye, hit the thanks or something .. http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/89699-mod-remap-your-hardware-keys.html#post959980

Correct me if I'm wrong but mms is only through 3g?? I've never had success receiving/sending them through wifi
TO ANYONE EXPERIENCING MMS RELATED ISSUES:
I was having trouble sending/receiving mms on athenos cm7 this worked for me. Your going to want to root explore or file explore (etc) into /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases. Look for the file mmsms.db and delete it also delete the other files related. Reboot. Test. I'm almost certain it should fix your issues.
