Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

Has anyone gotten the new Google Talk with video to work? I have gotten it to install but video did not work, it must be a wrong lib file? I am not sure, just wondering if anyone has played around with it...

Bluetooth does work, I use 2 different bluetooth headsets at work and it sync's up flawlessly with my car. As for bluetooth eveything works. I love being able to make calls in my car handsfree or listen to my music wirelessly thru bluetooth thru my radio. I use them every single day!

It might work for you, I was letting drew know it didn't work on every bluetooth system yet. It works on reborn (so it's not just me haha). But this rom is so much tweakier than reborn so I use it :D

What's up with the update bro? Haven't seen any activity recently

Sent from my redux/cm7 optimus.

Read the op for more info. Drew is tied up at the moment. There is supposed to be an experimental branch update at some point tonight. I'd elaborate further, but long diatribes on an on screen keyboard aren't happening.

Never comment about a release date. Drew is doing all of us a favor making our little phones great. It will release when he's finished compiling.

If you check the OP you will see that he posted that the project is on hold due to real life. He will release something when he has time.

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

No need to start **** with me about it. I appreciate everything he's doing I was jw and I read the op 3 days ago and didn't see anything.

Hey guys,

Just installed STABLE-002, 08/09/2011. I used Xionia CWMA v1.2518.6.

I searched, and didn't see anything - I turned on wifi hotspot and the phone rebooted!?! I didn't get any FC errors... went to enable "Portable Hotspot", and it seemed to just hang there thinking... and then the LG logo!

Perhaps it's a kernel issue. gf just got the phone yesterday, and I immediately rooted it following that gingerbreak thread, worked great. Then did custom recovery with that Xionia thread. Backed up stock ROM stuffs, then formatted /boot, /system, /data and /cache. Installed STABLE-002 and the associated gapps package.

The build seems to be workin really well, and I appreciate all the hard work that's been done to bring CM to this device - kudos!

I can get logs or whatever you want to debug this issue. I work with another project (XDAndroid) so I am pretty proficient at troubleshooting problems :p. Never used a native Android device before tho...

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

Hello Everyone,

I came from ThundeROM. I backed-up my data through ClockModRecovery. Did the format data, install CM7 and Gapps, Reboot. All is working well.

Then I reboot in recovery to restore my data. Went in to ClockModRecovery, chose back up and restore, then advance restore. Chose restore data only. It completed the restore. I rebooted. Now I'm stuck at the CM logo with the Blue Android Skateboarding. Is there away for me to back up all my user data, such as sms, call logs, and contacts. I don't really mind redownloading the apps.

I think when I restore my data, it put back all my old settings from ThundeROM or something, but i can't boot into my phone and I am stuck at the blue android skateboarding screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all for your hard works.

Did you overclock? I have found that anything above 600 seems to have issues with portable hotspot. Even when I try to enable it at 600 it will reboot, but then when I try it again it works.

Yes. Restoring your data from ThunderRom caused the issue. ThunderRom is Android 2.2 and this is 2.3. There were many changes in the framework between the 2 builds. Are you able to boot into recovery? Pull the battery and boot into recovery by holding home + volume down + power. This should boot you to recovery where you will need to do a full wipe and reinstall of the rom. Unfortunately you will not be able to restore your data from ThunderRom and will need to reinstall everything. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply ath3nos. I am able to boot into recovery and install the rom again. So is there no way to save my contacts and sms?

I'm not sure about sms. I think there is an app that will allow you to save them, but I am not sure. Maybe someone else has an idea about that. As far as contacs go, if you use a gmail address then your contacts should be already backed up and once you flash gapps and sign in it should sync all of your contacts. Another way to do it if you do not have a gmail account is to open up contacts app and in the menu you can export/import contacts. You can export your contacts to your sd card and then once you install the new rom you can import them back.

My Backup Root will save your SMS, phone log, bookmarks, MMS, etc.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Unless there's some built-in / 'default' overclocking settings, no I have not overclocked this device.

I haven't even installed any apps to overclock like SetCPU - I assume that's what you folks use to OC?

It's funny, I'm used to troubleshooting reboots with haretconsole, no clue how to do it here :p.

I will verify when I'm home if the device is indeed being overclocked - if it is being OC'd, it wasn't anything I chose to enable...

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

Just switched over to this ROM and I couldn't be happier. So many options for customization and this ROM so far seems very stable, so thank you Drew for your hard work, I really appreciate it!

On a side note, I've been looking into themes. Does anyone use the UOT Kitchen? If so, what apk's (Cyanbread or Androidian) did/do you upload? I tried to make one of these yesterday and had to wipe re-install everything (phone did not like what I tried to install).
