Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

ADWLauncher has downloadable themes. Why is everyone downloading apps from sites to do themes?

the reason why I do it is because there are a lot of themes to choose from and that we can use in theme chooser.

I may check out one of these themes now that I have things running a little better. :D

I could be wrong, but I don't think any of the ADW Themes change the status bar of the phone...a minor thing, but CM7 themes are more than just icon packs and wallpapers. For instance, the Optimus 2x theme changes the phone app as well as the status bar.

Themes don't determine my decision on ROMs. I don't really theme mine. I theme my wife's though. And she has Reborn.

I thought there was plenty of downloadable themes in the market for this? Am I mistaken?

Yeah, but they are all crap! LOL. Seriously, the theme team that makes the ReBorn themes are the best and nothing compares. I've tried a bunch and nothing even looks as good as the Reouched theme and I like having Lloyd on the notification pulldown.

I've got a nandroid waiting...........

You will be waiting a long time then.

Why would you choose a rom for a theme over the performance?

I agree that the theme team here is making some great looking themes. I can't wait until they port some to CM7, if they are able to do that. Overall, CM7 gives me better performance, but there are some other performance issues with CM7 that might also steer you to Reborn, like the inability to update profile/prl. And even though bluetooth is working for me, it's still not as 100% as any LG based rom, it's more like 99.8%. My car bluetooth doesn't connect automatically 100% of the time like it did with Reborn. Most of the time, it's fine, but a few times I've had to connect manually. I also noted earlier that google places distances are in km. Minor bugs like this bring the "performance" issue closer to a wash, and if you find a particular theme desireable, I certainly can't fault someone for sticking with Reborn...

Bugs:
When sending tones after pause or a wait the tones never get sent or do so incorrectly. Doing manual tones works fine.

Emailer ringtone always defaults to notification default ringtone when setting it in the email program.

I can't see much difference in actual performance. I'm sure CM7 blows stock Sprint froyo no doubt, but Nick & team have made ReBorn the best froyo ROM.

I tend to agree. I get much faster quadrant benchmark speeds with Drew's CM7 (950 versus 550), but can't say that there is a meaningful difference in performance.

Quadrant scores are not a good indication of performance. It might be good to compare kernels on the same rom, but I don't put much stock in it. Quadrant can get manipulated easily. Here is a screenshot of my manipulated quadrant on my optimus s.

Lmao....... nice!!

I agree but what about scores around the same mark? I've had a score around 2500 but my average is about 1305!

Quadrant jumps around a bunch. I can average 1300+ but once in awhile I get a wonky score of 3000+. Quadrant just isn't really that great of a benchmark tool. Antutu seems to at least give you scores in a close range, which makes it a little more accurate than quadrant as far as an average score goes. But then again, it's just a tool and should not be used to gauge wether or not your phone is performing well. If it feels snappy, then it is.

Optimus 2X theme was good, but I did not like the notification icons and the pulldown colors. If our team can make it better for us then I'm all over it.

I sort of liked Xperia, GingerblurB and Alpha 7...but retouched just looks so good.

Maybe it would be worth asking nik to port it to cm7?
