DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

I seem to be having the same issue with Google now. When i check my Battery usage it says that 70% of it is being driven by Android. I assume that includes Google now. Anybody know for sure?

I can't say for sure, but ANDROID OS is definitely the biggest battery user on my phone. It also was with ICS, and that DIDN'T have Google Now so...

I am tempted to disable Now anyway because, while it is kinda cool, it doesn't really give me cards other than weather, calendar reminders, and navigation cards on a consistent basis. I have almost be right on top of something to get a card, and it seems as though (even if I press Refresh) that the cards don't really change.

One last curiosity: it seems that the most consistent way to trigger current and more diverse cards is to go into Maps, force the GPS to get a fresh lock, and then trigger Now. That is hardly efficient!

On the bright side, I'm really getting a lot of practical use out of the Siri-like Voice Search/Voice Commands feature in JB-enhanced Google Search! :D

From what I understand, Google Now typically creates new cards based off of searches you do....so if you are say a NY Jets fan, if you search for the Jets a few times, you'll get a card then whenever the Jets have a game coming up.

9.6 HoB is released. Also, 2 links to the 98.72.22 FXZ have been added. Make sure to read the release page for the HoB if you are on ICS and want to use the 246 Keep Data and root options to prepare for the JB update. I added some functionality that needs to be tested. NO ONE should be using the 98.72.22 FXZ unless you brick your phone as there's no way to recover root once use it.

9.9 huh? :)

On the lapdock 500 at least, I can just use the left/right arrows while on the homescreen to move between screens. You have to hold it down for a second or otherwise it just moves between selected app icons on the screen.

Thanks I'll try that out. I never thought to hold a keyboard key.

It's quite annoying. I just want to see how another team did. Not have them as my card.

I'm afraid I'm not much understanding that past downloading the file.

Is it saying to open like DOS box in Windows with the phone plugged in and USB Debugging on? Also, he says to download the unsure su, but I see a couple of different su files and neither say unsure.

There's only one su in his dropbox.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jcpilpgoeta516e/6uw7bUWkAe/su

And yes, it'll require using ADB in a command prompt to fix it. If Voodoo refuses to restore root properly, this is the only way to do it. It's a royal pain. Especially since we went through all the steps to avoid having to do this.

EDIT: Also your su-backup should be in:

/system/usr/we-need-root/su-backup

Well my wife bricked her phone. We both have a bionic. I updated her to JB and told her that she cannot fxz back to 246 for any reason. She said her phone was acting weird and she went and did what I told her not to do. I'm so annoyed. Not only that, she flashed the 246 boot.img so now I need the boot.img system image for 22. I extracted the 22 update file and got the boot.img.p file but I do not know how to create the boot.img file from that. I need some serious help before I end up in jail for murder lol. Anyone who knows how to do it or can teach me how so I can fix her F up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sam,

Is your HoB site down? Can't access it no matter what connection or device I use.

Let me guess. You've found a root exploit for JB and everyone is downloading it, right? :) LOL

The FXZ for 98.72.22 has been out for 24 hours now. But if she had root, it's gone now.

That will wipe her phone and factory reset it though. Good times.

DroidRZR is down. No, I have no idea why. They just did a site upgrade recently. Who knows what's going on. Keep trying periodically to get to it.

Yea, it's not so good. I haven't even had anyone on ICS test the latest version to see if I fixed the bugs in root yet. I want very badly to automate installing root, installing voodoo, and creating a voodoo backup for people. But if no one can get to the HoB page they can't very well test it. UGH.

I'm aware of that. She was rooted but that's what she gets for not listening. I didn't know the 22 fxz was out already. I read the other day, u said it would be sometime next week. Now if we can just get a root exploit, which is looking more and more doubtful with each passing day.

It's very evident you want to make things as easy as possible for people, which makes it even more frustrating when you can't even get any testers to try it. :( If I was still on ICS I would consider helping but I'm on JB now.

Sam,

Just curious. Can a developer phone, or one with an unlocked bootloader, go back and install ICS or gingerbread if they wanted to for whatever reason, or would they be just as stuck as we are in going back to previous versions?

Thank you.
