I seem to be having the same issue with Google now. When i check my Battery usage it says that 70% of it is being driven by Android. I assume that includes Google now. Anybody know for sure?
I can't say for sure, but ANDROID OS is definitely the biggest battery user on my phone. It also was with ICS, and that DIDN'T have Google Now so...
I am tempted to disable Now anyway because, while it is kinda cool, it doesn't really give me cards other than weather, calendar reminders, and navigation cards on a consistent basis. I have almost be right on top of something to get a card, and it seems as though (even if I press Refresh) that the cards don't really change.
One last curiosity: it seems that the most consistent way to trigger current and more diverse cards is to go into Maps, force the GPS to get a fresh lock, and then trigger Now. That is hardly efficient!
On the bright side, I'm really getting a lot of practical use out of the Siri-like Voice Search/Voice Commands feature in JB-enhanced Google Search!
