I received the update last night on my Droid Razr HD XT926 and the install failed. I am not rooted, running stock rom, etc. Any suggestions. Should I use House of Moto to go back to factory? Any help would be appreciated.

I had to. I was stock and rooted and the OTA failed every single time. Even flashing the OTA failed. I did the entire HoM and within 10 seconds of it booting up the first time, I was given (I didn't pull it) the OTA and then it worked perfectly.

It seems this OTA is damn damn picky about what's on the phone already.

Glad its working well. I was beginning to think it was the end for any updates. I love this phone and the battery life and nothing out there really matches up!!!!!!!

Mine updated and now the mobile network won't stay connected or at best I get 1X. Total Fail by Verizon. Now begins the typical post update battle with them......sigh...

I got my update this morning. I feel a difference in speed and responsiveness that even beats what I saw when I did a factory reset a few months ago. I changed my SMS and MMS to work with Hangouts because I do like how it handles group messages better than the stock app. The fix for the MMS issues I had when I tried it before is great - everything works as intended.

I am not having the issues some of the other were having. All my Wifi networks were fine, my Bluetooth pairings weren't changed, and even Light Flow is still working as intended. All in all, I am very grateful for this update. Loving Kit Kat so far!

Holy cow! It's like a brand new phone! The difference in speed and smoothness is incredible and I haven't even switched from Dalvik to ART.

One of our RMHD phones is great. The other refuses to connect to WiFi. Search KitKat and WiFi and you'll get a lot of hits across several phone models. I have to pop the SIM card out and restart the phone, then reinsert the SIM once it comes back up. Ive had to do thiscat least 5 times today. Highly annoying.

Logged in to see if anyone was experiencing excessive battery drain the past week and was delighted to see this thread. Checked for the update yesterday and am doing a full reset this morning.
Hoping for the best.

I had been getting excessive battery drain the past couple weeks. Turns out it was one of my widgets that recently updated, Smooth Calendar. I removed it from my home screens the other day and battery life was more normal.

I just got KitKat installed last night so I don't know how it's effecting battery life, yet. We'll see.

I'm excited about the KitKat update. Got it a couple days ago. I have yet to find info on how to set the lock screen widgets. I enabled them, but where are they and how do I add/edit them?
BTW, I love the update so far. It's like a new phone now. :D

Swipe down on the lock screen then swipe that screen to the right. You'll have a screen with a big + and tapping that allows you to add lock screen widgets.

I miss the toggle for silent mode.

Also the default clock widget doesn't show next alarm so I got rid of it and replaced it with the Timely widget. I wonder if there's an other widget that has all that and a toggle for silent mode.

That is the first thing I changed. I tried it and loved it on my N7, gained battery life on it. I am working on an area with poor 3g/4g reception and yesterday, first day with Art, started work with my battery down 12%, finished the day with 3% more than the 3 previous days so in my 1 day test it works great.

Update went great and has brought new life to my phone. It is much smoother now than it has been over the last few months. One thing I noticed is the default notification LED is no longer green for gmail, text, etc. It's now a white pulse. Not a big deal, just something I noticed.

Is anyone else having issues checking for updates? I know the update is available for me, but I wanted to factory reset it first. Now, when I go to Setting -> about phone -> system updates I get a box asking me to setup a Motorola service account, but that doesn't actually do anything. It just spins the loading circle.

I pulled it down that way yesterday and didn't have that issue. After I did click to download update, it took about 20 minutes before it actually started downloading however. I thought it was frozen because I was unable to access system updates after that and there was no indication that the update was actually downloading. Eventually, the download started with a percent completion indicator. After that, everything downloaded and installed fine.

Last night, before I ran House of Moto to clear things out, I tried a few times to get it to run. It told me a couple times that there was an update but it wasn't available at that time. I think the servers were just getting smashed.

Not sure how to do the instruction you stated above, I swipe down and try to go right but it doesn't do anything but unlock the phone.
