Well it mine rebooted about 25 times and so I pulled the battery and I'm just gonna try installing and doing the whole thing over ( I didn't have my phone plugged in the first time so I'm hoping thats why ) but here goes nothing.

Edit : Turns out that worked right out. Hooray for Froyo and all its tasty goodness.

The last digits are on most sites are 1.1 but mine says 1.3? Can anybody confirm under there system settings.

i put the file onto my sd card, named it update.zip, booted into fastboot, recovery (clockwork mod recovery using unrevoked 3), went to apply update and as soon as it starts to update it says there is no such file or directory. Suggestions?

Is the update on your SD as is? What I mean is when you look on your SD card it it like this. SD/update.zip.

When you get to the screen with the red triangle hold volume up then hit power. it brings up blue text...


Says flash update.zip

This was the key!

Thanks.... Worked like a charm.... 2.2 up and running.. No problems with the camera or flash sites... Seems to be working great.... Swype reinstalled and rocking...

Well I'm sorry to say but my phone was not rooted. This is what I had to do, after restarting the phone I clicked on bootloader and not fastboot. The put it in recovery mode and then the red triangle with red ! Mark was there. So I held the up button in and push once on the power button. Then it asked to install from SD:update.zip now that's unrooted but if yours is rooted then it might not work the same.

Nevermind, it is working as we speak. This is my first android phone, first update, first time changing major things in my phone, and first time ive peed myself in 16 years.

Kind of glad that I worked tonight. Now I'm off work and come home and read through this thread to find a lot of issues. Think I will hold out for the official OTA. Thank you all for testing it for this Goat though.

Everything worked flawless. First time changing a ROM. I chose the "put it on the SD card and wing it" method. I was rooted, but if anyone needs help feel free to PM me and I'll help.

But, now I'm off to yogurtland to celebrate.

I have downloaded the file many times and even tried downloading straight to sd card but keep getting the error message telling me the verifications failed.

i updated and now i just get a slowly flashing image of a android dude with an arrow coming out of a box. DID I JUST BRICK MY EVO?

I just did mine quick and easy. guess I was kinda late to the game or already used to flashing from recovery from playing this week with unrevoked.

For the record it worked flawless with unrevoked3.
