Have you tried installing zip file from SD and then choosing the file. If you went from 4.06.605.2 to .3 you may want to check your apps for Super user as the ones I have seen on here are the Rooted version. Especially if you're getting the incorrect propbuild file. My .3 says I have the correct screen size.

I have a quik question. I am rooted and have version 2.2 with a ROM called Incredibly Re-Engineered. If i download the OTA 2.3 update from XDA and install it manually from SD card will it go through or will it brick my phone. Or do i have to go back to stock to update it manually? I dont care if i loose root just tell me if i can just install it over that rom or do i have to go back to stock

Froyo to gingerbread you should rename the file pb31img.zip

.2 to .3 should be renamed update.zip

That is what worked for me at least.

then power off your phone and boot into hboot by holding vol down and power it should automatically find the file and run the update. For this to work you must be complete stock

Still no luck. In the hboot screen when I try and flash it says something about PB31DIAG. It flashes so fast it is hard to tell what it all says.

Well, I downloaded this file and renamed it accordingly, but during hboot it is saying no image, etc...

Well, I downloaded this file and renamed it accordingly, but during hboot it is saying no image, etc...

Have downloaded via PC and renamed. Have now copied from PC to the Dinc via USB cable....

I backed up everything on my SD card, and reformatted it with FAT32, then copied the 87.7 MB OTA ZIP file to the root of the SD card, named "PB31IMG.zip".

When I reboot into HBOOT, it finds PB31IMG.zip and loads it, and then it says "Checking..[PB31IMG.zip]".

After a while, it goes back to the main HBOOT menu without doing anything.

I'm not rooted, and on stock Froyo. I thought the OTA update would apply correctly even if you weren't rooted. I must be missing something.

Well, it's trying but it is saying that it is either the wrong image or no image (wish the type size was a bit smaller and the scrolling of the messages was a bit faster) :S

Sorry guys. I really thought I had something. From the way its looking it might not be so... The path seemed legit and the size and everything are matching up to what I've read.

Hoping someone with more experience can tell me what I've found if its not the update.

It may be the update but the one they seem to be trying is 90MB. The one I downloaded and installed was 170MB so something doesn't add up. Did they get an incomplete download? Is the file only 90MB for the non rooted version?

I think you are probably close....

I've seen other threads where you can view a log that might give up the d/l location..... Everyone seemed to be waiting for that info...
