From OnLeaks, Get Excited

if it has all the features you're looking for at a reasonable price, you wouldn't get it simply cause it resembles an iPhone?

Not an iPhone but a boring looking phone in general. It would have to be far and away the best phone out there for me but right now, it's still behind the Style. Yeah, I'm weird. I actually do want my phone to look appealing :/

Is there a actually date set by Google when they are going to announce the devices and name and number?

They announced the 6 last year in October (the 16th I believe) so I would anticipate it'd be around then. Leaks really started coming out in the later part of September if I recall correctly.

and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that man, I was just wondering. personally looks isn't my thing, but I don't live under a rock and realize it's important to a lot of people.

fortunately android users can be picky ... there's more than enough choice which is why so many OEMs have a tough time moving phones. good for us, bad for them. I'd hate to be an iPhone user, you're stuck with their one device every year.

even though this is just a render based off a rumor, for discussions sake hopefully once it gets filled in with some detail and color, it'll be more appealing to you. I have my hopes pretty high and I expect big things from Nexus this year ... if not I'll take my pitchfork and burn down Evleaks and OnLeaks headquarters!

Didn't read the whole thread. What processor is the LG coming with?

Yeah, some people don't care for looks of a phone. I do and you're right, we do have the luxury of being picky. It's one reason I've been a big Android advocate and a big Moto advocate b/c Moto Maker is great! The ability to customize the look of your phone is great.

I honestly hope it is also b/c I would prefer a 5.7" over 5.2" (5.5" being my ideal) but if it looks that bland, I'll definitely pass.

That look of the Tweet above though, that looks good. I like that a lot.

Credit to OnLeaks, again. If you look again at the render leaked a couple days ago as I just did, it looks like the same phone in MKBHD's tweet, in white, with the Nexus branding that evleaks claimed was missing.

Seriously, Moto maker is pretty cool! Got my wife a Moto G 2G. She's not really into phones (except for the way they look), but it turned out to be perfect for her. Seriously considering a Moto X Pure Edition when it comes out. Not sure yet though.

what wise are you considering?

another thing to consider is the front facing speakers. would you trade that in just for the sensor to be up front? personally I like the spot. i don't envision using it all that often so if I'm slightly inconvenienced so be it. I'll get a lot more use out of those speakers than I will the sensor. I also want the bezels as small as possible, and if it was up front the bottom bezel would be a lot bigger. with a 5.7" display, I'm not looking to add any height to an already larger device.

I would rather have a fingerprint scanner on the front than front-facing speakers. They're not a big deal to me, as I use fingerprint scanners far more than I play audio without headphones. Most of the online tech community seems pretty split over this from what I've seen. I'll probably get used to it, but mobile payments with the fingerprint scanner on the back is gonna be awkward. Putting it on the front of any device smaller than 5.2 inches is perfectly natural. I've said this before, but putting the scanner on the back means I always have to pick up my phone to use it that way. If it's laying on a desk or a bed, the scanner isn't accessible.

LG logo on that sticker at the bottom...only things I'm not feeling about the back of this are the protruding camera and the attempt at the Moto style dimple

"attempt art the Moto style dimple" ... that's not a dimple, it's a fingerprint sensor

I respect everybody's opinion, and I certainly respect yours, but I gotta be honest, saying that "putting the scanner on the back means I always have to pick up my phone" just seems excessively picky. i mean, you prefer it up front and aren't a big speaker person,v that's totally cool and I get that. but to follow that up and say you don't want to always have to pick it up? sounds kinda unreasonable ... I've heard a ton of arguments, but I've honestly never heard that one before.

Have to admit I agree to the not wanting to pick the phone up argument. With the iPhone you can have it on the desk and just touch the home button to quickly unlock the device. It's daft to have to pick it up to do the same when the scanner is on the back. Maybe I'm lazy but I like to be able to leave my phone on the desk and interact with it without having to pick it up. I found the lg g3 annoying for that reason with the volume buttons on the back even though it had knock on

I really would like to get a new phone that is better than the one I have. However, I have a Nexus 6 and the MotoX Style and the new LG or Huawei are, for me, a downgrade. I don't need a fingerprint sensor. I have a 3225maH battery that lasts all day plus and wireless charging with a killer screen. It's good to be King.

I would not worry too much, I am sure you still will be able to activate your phone without picking it up, the fingerprint scanner will be there more for convenience for making payments and other activities while you are holding your phone.
