[GB][2.11.605.0][Sense3.0]BAMF Forever 1.0.7

I have been getting a force close of the htc mail app since upgrading to .7 Also my phone has frozen on 3 different occassions requiring a battery pull. Has anyone experienced any of these issues?

From the OP's change log of 1.0.7 in POST #1:

****Note: If you get FCs after installation in Mail, use Titanium Backup to delete data for the mail app.****

So, I've just installed 1.0.7, and location services don't seem to be working for the HTC Weather/Clock widget. I didn't see this as a known issue..

Any ideas?

For the problem with root permissions... I had the same issue going from 1.0.6 to 1.0.7. Titanium and ROM Manager kept giving me root access errors. Uninstalled the apps and re-installed them and everything was working again.

Settings > Accounts & sync > Weather > make sure Sync weather and Update when open are checked.

Do you see a good improvement with that kernal?? I read how great this ROM ran on stock so I havnt flashed another kernal yet

I flashed IMO 3.8 leankernel and my quadrant scores went from a consistent 1400 up to 2100+.
My phone is flying now but it stays a little warmer now (not hot).
Haven't ran into any bugs yet but I haven't ran a lot of apps yet.
All the basics seem OK for now.

Hows the battery life?

Hows the battery life?

Haven't had it on long enough to really evaluate. I also use the extended battery so it will take some time for me probably to get a good feel since my battery was lasting almost two days before charging.

I'll report back if I notice a drastic difference.

the old bamf roms used to have a call recorder baked into the rom. Anyone know what app they used on those old bamf roms? I would like to download that for this rom.

Thanks,

Shawn

I see that gingeritis is in release form,I imagine forever is pretty close to a release version as well. I'm excited for adr to have more time to work on touch my bamf. Still loving forever though.

my battery life has been horrible, it's significantly worse than bamf 1.8.6 and rc4.9.
whats the best way to improve my battery life wiht this rom?

The call recorder functionality is builtin with the kernel, which Adrynalyne used to include with his Froyo ROMs. Unfortunately, there is still no source available for the GB kernel, so ADR hasn't been able to build any custom ones yet.

There's no real harm in trying a custom kernel out -- you can always flash back to stock. I've tried IMO's lean kernel, my TB ran great on it, but it felt a little less "stable" and my battery life fluctuated a bit. Others seem to like it much better. Probably depends a lot on what specifically you use your phone for.

Personally, as long as my phone is running as well as it is with the stock kernel, I'm going to stick with it until the devs get a source for the GB kernel and can really release something better.

Any chance of getting the radio version you are using???

im using the latest gb radio. i think i figured out the problem though. go launcher on this rom = horrible battery. gonna keep monitoring.

i still wanna know the best set up for best battery though.

Low display, turn data on and off as needed, Imo's lean kernel has options to govern the CPU, lots of ideas to trim a little fat here and there. Don't forget wifi when possible.
