GB .595 is out in the wild

i've done 4 DX's and GB 1.20 worked fine on all of them.
wonder what the difference is?

well then you're lucky, it definitely did not work for me. i tried it several times with no success, and i believe it doesn't work for alot of people since there are several comments on droidworld about it not working on .595. i just checked and i was using 1.20. oh well.

1. Do you have debugging on?
2. Did you install Busybox?
3. Did you make sure sd card was not mounted to pc?

Because I tested it twice on different installs and worked perfectly both times.

Okay guys I am new to all of this. Could someone please clarify. I made the leap to the stock .595 from stock .588 now I am hearing that I cannot receive the OTA update when it comes out. Is this true??? If so how in the hell do I sbf back to .340? I was given clear concise instructions of how to get to .595 from .588. Could somebody please give me clear instructions of how to sbf back to .340. I have no idea how to do it. I still have d2 bootstrap on my phone and gingerbreak. However, think I am no longer rooted because it is no longer showing the superuser icon once I installed .595. If anybody can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Just stay on .595, if you like keeping root then stay on .595.

Installation:

1.Turn on debugging mode (settings>applications>development>debugging mode)
2.Power off
3.Boot into Bootloader (Pressing Volume Down + Volume Up + Power) Gingerbread Only
4.Launch RSDLite (make sure device appears in window)
5.Select SBF
6.Start (Device will switch to bootloader and begin the flashing process and will reboot when it is complete.)
NOTE: Sometime installation hangs at 100% and reports to manual reboot, at this point you have to pull battery, unplug cable and enter back into Bootloader mode by pressing Volume Down + Camera + Power and then plug cable back in. RSDLite should read Complete Successful after connecting and then you can power down,
7. Power up into recovery by pressing Home and Power
8. Select Search (Right Button)

10. After complete select Restart
11. Done.

This is a full sbf file, it will cure the worlds ailments. It will recovery your system to the stock 2.3.340 odexed state.

Damn Wildman.....once again you come through for me. Thank you so much dude. I hope I am not being a thorn in you guys side. I am slowly getting my feet wet and I choice want to take things slow. Once again thank you and I will let you know how things turn out for me. I probably will not post again until late tomorrow night (well actually today since it is after midnight). Thanks

Oh and I went ahead and downloaded the files you provided to me just in case the links go dead or something goes wrong.

yes debugging was on, no i cannot install busybox without root access, per the busybox installer. that may have been the issue. it prompted to install then failed since i did not have root access.

the SD card was not mounted to PC.

because i wanted to be able to unbreak and receive the OTA, since there is a good possibility the OTA will be different. this was before i knew i could not receive the OTA on .595.

i really don't see much point in going to this version since we can't do OTA upgrades.

Logically, VZW would want to allow .588 to upgrade for several reasons:
- .588 doesn't have all the VZW crapware that they want on their phones
- Less tech support calls if everyone is reset to the next baseline

The latest update reported that only the official 2.3.240 Froyo build will accept the update which I thought would have been the case, so if you have any of the GB builds you will have to SBF to complete update.

Anyone tried to record a video (720p) with .595? ...Have any problems with the audio? ....mine is all static on 720p but no issues at all with the other formats.
