Go to a Verizon store? Post your thoughts here!

Also came back from the VZW store in Jersey and they had the Pixel 2 in blue and black. They also had the Pixel 2 XL in black. As other people had said here, the colors on the larger brother did not look as good as the smaller version. The bezels on the Pixel 2 didn't bother me since my hands can reach the whole screen with one hand. Also the squeeze feature was very useful but it was only working on the Pixel 2, the larger version wasn't working for some odd reason. Also the XL 2 looked a bit odd with the bezels and size. Didn't like it.

The store had a huge section with signage and displays. It was rather nice and clean. I didn't take photos unfortunately and had a row of people waiting to see it. Definitely liked the smaller Pixel better than the larger in my first impression.

I went to the store this evening but it was late and I had my boys waiting in the car. I literally ran in and out. I did like the regular pixel 2. I have the XL 2 panda on order with Verizon and the black pixel XL on order with Google. I'm thinking of cancelling my Google order because I think I want the panda color. I currently have and unblocked S8+. I know getting the phone from Verizon it will be locked but I also want to use WiFi calling and for some reason I feel this unlocked phone doesn't work well on Verizon.

I did pick up the V30 and it felt more manageable in one hand.

Just got back from Jersey Vzw as well and just wanna add a few things. The round edges of XL looks weird to me for some reason and top bezel looks smaller than the bottom. Also, the portrait mode for front facing camera doesnt work on demo units they have. Only played with Pixel 2 as their XL doesnt work. They only have black but let me tell you.... It looks slick and premium! How do i put this.. its like a CEO's phone! In the end I still didnt regret preordering the smaller pixel. I move a lot in my job and my fone is mostly in my pocket, so having the smaller Pixel is more comfortable for me.

The original unlocked Pixel worked great on verizon. WiFi calling and hd calling with video

This video shows the screens of the pixel 2 and xl2. I assume it was shot today at a verizon store and you can see what I said previously about the smaller pixel having better viewing angles than the xl. Kind of disappointed since i ordered the xl.

People are drawing conclusions about the viewing angles of the two screens and the two screens aren't even displaying the same image?

Really?

I'm told the only difference is the bootloader

If you take it out of demo mode everything works

Hands on at Verizon

I have no intentions of purchasing the Pixel 2/XL but I find them to be very tempting phones. I also don't miss opportunities to play around with new devices when they become available. I went to Verizon unnoticed by the sales reps so I really had some nice uninterrupted time with mostly the 2 XL but also the smaller Pixel 2. I really love the design. The bezels are not as slim as say the Note 8 or the V30(which I also played around with) but they are greatly justified this year with the inclusion of front facing speakers. I'd take front facing speakers over tiny bezels any day when they're implemented this way. The P2 XL is definitely not a slim device but the heft feels good and it's backed up by a decent sized battery.

The cameras are as advertised but my goodness, the UI is way too bare bones for me. I like to control my shots which is why I've leaned towards LG phones over the competition. You could go with a third party app but my guess is you lose out on Google's algorithms. Not sure. I'm particularly impressed with the FFC after the blurry 5mp one on the V30. Main sensor autofocus was very responsive.

Just squeeze it! Google assistant on a squeeze was much cooler than I anticipated. I don't know why reviewers downplayed it so much on the U11. I like the smaller size of the Pixel 2 a lot too. Really great experience and no one else came in after me and the reps were occupied with other customers. I'm on T-Mobile anyway. Really nice phones.

So to ask/repeat... The unlocked Pixel 2 I'm getting from google will work with Verizons's WiFi Calling, as well as Advanced Calling in order to get Voice and internet at the same time?

I got to see the pixel 2 xl at a verizon store today and only messed with it for a short time because the display model was taken away due to their alarm for it not working, but an employee brought it out from the back for me to check it out and I didn't want to spend too much of her time having to overlook me using the phone.

Anyways, I'm disappointed by the display because the colors look washed out on the stock wallpaper. But, if it's the same display as the v30 then it should be really good because I saw the v30 there and the display was really good besides the blue tint issue. The blue tint is present in the pixel 2 xl too when viewed at around 45 deg angle or greater.

I didn't test much else as I was mainly interested in the display.

I compared it to the note 8 and note 8 was better. The colors popped out on the note 8 and someone put an insanely good looking wallpaper on the note 8 that made the display stand out.

I'll see what others think of the display and maybe check it out more later before deciding whether to get it or not.

Just checked the Pixel 2 XL at the Verizon store. The smaller Pixel does seem to have better quality screen but the the bezels look bigger than last year

Pixel 2 XL looks little goofy, definitely not the best looking from front. Feel was fine and agree doesn't look or feel like a $1000 phone but I'm buying for the best camera and software experience. May be next year they nail the look portion as well.

The most premium phone imo, is the one with the most optimized OS.

A great camera, sexy bezel (wtf does this mean anyway?), and beautiful screen are worthless without the most optimized OS. Nothing worse than a stuttery phone wrapped in a beautiful package.

I would've been perfectly happy with a Note 8 if Pixel didn't exist, but since it does, nothing else matters to me. Having a great camera is simply icing on the cake.

Your premium device may vary.

Went to a Verizon store today to play with one. I've had pretty much every major android or apple release up till now (droid 1, iPhone 4, 5, 6/s plus, HTC one, s6, S7 edge, note 7, there are more just too many to list) and can say this phone is amazing. I love the design and the camera is top notch. I tested against my current phone, Moto Z force and the pixel 2 XL just stomps it. It will be my next phone.

Unlocked Pixels work with wifi, advance calling and HD voice on Verizon

openwheelracing,I was concerned when reviewers said Pixel 2 has a coating over alluminum. I cannot understand that decision either.

However, I am not buying Pixel 2 for premium feel. I am buying for the Android experience and camera. Also the inflated trading value of my Pixel was the final push I needed cause I am still having Bluetooth issues.

openwheelracing, premium feel is a must on a $1000.00 phone, I do have with the current XL the Android experience and camera, and luckily the Bluetooth issues been solved for me few months ago. As I said in my original post I pre ordered the phone in October 4, but after today I decided against. I know that I will miss some of the unique features the phone comes with it, but i will not be able to live on daily basis with a such a cheap phone finish and feel. LG is not known for offering top of the line premium finish on their phones, that's really sad, because Google is targeting Apple, and quite frankly their phones hardware quality and finish are superb, miles ahead of the Pixel XL2, however I'm an Android junkie and I will no switch to Apple.
LG nailed it on the V10, V20, G6 and sounds like the V30. They have been consistent on releasing premium quality products with the omission of the G5, which to me felt pretty good for a sometimes hollow phone.. But what do I know. Lol
