Google Pixel 6/Pro - just over the horizon?

Believing Google is the same as believing the Communists. The communists promise communism, and in return they give a permanent revolution.

Ooooooooooooooooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ...

Thanks ... I tried that but no go. Guess the sensor has gone haywire on me because no matter the sensitivity setting I get GA randomly activating all day. Whether the phone is in my pocket, I place it (gently) down on a table or sometimes even while I'm holding it. Only thing that I've found to stop these false triggers is to turn off squeeze for assistant.

Yep that is a mechanical linkage that triggers the Assistant... I can feel it when I squeeze it. That type of set-up is going to have a limited life span, you probably just wore it out :( Maybe that's why they discontinued it with the 4a?

I did use it multiple times on a daily basis. I do miss it but I'm on the 12 beta and having the option to use the power button to trigger GA is just as good IMO.

Comparing Google to Communism? The horror! :P

So far me the thing about Pixel phones starting with the Nexus 6p has always been experience. I had a Note 5? (I think it was that one) meltdown and needed a new phone but I didn't trust Samsung anymore. I'd had Samsung phones for a few years.

I found that I could get the 6p on Google financing (at least I think so), this was on AT&T at the time. I bought it and was amazed at the smoothness of the phone, plus it was a looker.

I've used every Pixel XL version and the 5 since they were introduced. I have never been let down by my experience with Pixels. I am not a spec chaser, I'm more of an experience chaser. Samsung may have stopped insisting on double apps of Google apps, not sure. That crap was annoying. Google just gives me a clean slate to choose what I want.

I'm totally getting the Pixel 6 Pro. I do miss my Motorola Photon though.

Actually that's probably better than the metal parts that have to flex for the Assistant squeeze, easier on the hand, and I've personally never had a power button fail. They're a very simple spring loaded design. That's probably what they'll go forward with on Android 12 ;)

I can't see how the squeeze would work if there is a case on the phone. I prefer barking orders to my assistant anyway.

I want that as well. But.. again will that work with a case on? Why haven't all Pixels received it?
I believe that a new feature coming with the 6 series and it will work with a case of implemented the same way that Apple does.

Speaking of which I got to digging in the accessibility menu because that's where the back tap feature should end up, I had no idea that Google does indeed have a one handed mode in there.
