HD voice calls uk

Hi
I have my g3 on ee here in UK and get hd calls when phoning other ee users. It sounds good, certainly much better than regular calls.

However I also have a blackberry z10 (for work) on Vodafone and the HD calls on that seem much clearer. Is that a network thing or is the z10 just better than the g3 for hd calls.

Anyone else in UK comment on this?

Generally speaking network coverage is about the same from Vodafone and ee where I live.

I have never heard of HD calls! I am on ee in the UK too, is that something you have to activate?

No but the other caller needs to be on ee too.

There are some settings in call to improve background noise reduction but the actual hd call is network based. It's quite disconcerting at first. Hard to put into words but like listening to a cd of someone talking if you know what I mean.
