Hotspot Unlimited Data Loophole Question

3G phone only mobile hotspot is $20 a month with 2gb .. $10 /gig overage

4G phone only mobile hotpsot is $30 a month with unlimited data for the mobile hotspot

So I've been reading a lot about the mobile hotspot trick to get unlimited data, and I was wondering if I got this trick to work, would my account immediately be billed $30 extra for the current month on top of my already $30 for 4gb of data?

And if I got the hotspot plan successfully added, is my old 4gb plan automatically removed? (So I don't get charged $60 a month for some reason)

I wouldnt try this Verizon customer service reps know of this and if you change it and then remove the plan you could be put back on the 2gb plan and if not within 14 day wfg then you might not get the 4gb back. Just my opinion.

Call them up and tell them the feature number. Then say you want unlimited mobile hotspot. First call i did guy said it would cut my data down from 10gigs to 6gigs called back a hour later and they hooked me up. Account management shows unlimited data and my phone shows it to.

What app is that that's showing your data usage and max for verizon?

So just to be clear, if I add this feature myself on the website it's not going to be unlimited, but if I call and get the right rep they can do it? I tried chat and they said they can't do unlimited and $50 for 6GB.

Stop spreading info that you have nothing to back it with. I know my friend who did it 4 moths ago and removed it after one billing cycle and still has unlimited. I could come out and say that the rep told me that verizon won't add or remove features on their own, once you get it its yours. Than again all the reps say something different and most are talking out of their you know what.

Do you think verizon doesn't know about it? I am sure they will close the loophole now permanently since it will get more attention.

LOL that is true, talk about giving it the attention it doesn't need, lol. Verizon was probably ignoring it until now, now more people will try to sign up and verizon will probably be closing the loophole for sure. It will probably go on engadget, I am sure all of them knew about it but didn't make a big deal of it.

I just tried and the rep said it said I couldn't do it unless I had unlimited data, she was cool and tried to add it anyway but said she got an error message...

Just did this with two lines on my account, Thunderbolts bought on Black Friday! Already had unlimited on my GN. Called cust care and said I would like to add the $30 4g hotspot package, rep said that she had to move me to unlimited data to take advantage of this.

Okay, called and talked to a rep who set me up with the hot spot option. I was told the phone has my data limit package but the hot spot is unlimited. This makes no sense to me, can someone explain......I'm being sarcastic btw.

Just checked mine and they told me $30 unlimited data for the phone and $30 unlimited data for the 4go hotspot. I would just call back and check with them. Both SHOULD be unlimited i don't know why you would be on a limited data plan for your phone when you got unlimited on your hotspot.

I had unlimited already on my line. Other two lines didn't, rep moved those to unlimited using the hotspot feature.
