How long does everyone anticipate keeping the Note 9?

I'm on the new phone every 12 months with Samsung, so that looks like a great plan to stay with. Would love to try the Mate 20 Pro, but US carriers are not kind to Huawei devices. Locking out wifi calling and no Band 71 keeps me from going with the Mate.

Upgraded every note so far can't wait for the the next note 10. Staying away from the foldable phone.

I just can't imagine a phone having anything else that could entice me to upgrade. It's the epitome of, the pinnacle of cell phone technology :D

Pretty much, I think when we look back at cellphones even 5 years from now, it'll be the s8 where it was clear we were at the ceiling, and everything will be iterative from there on out.

You might want to check that because even though it says 18 months I know sprint does the galaxy forever program with the flagship samsungs you can upgrade after 12 months to the new galaxy. It would show under your device agreement on your my sprint page

I believe I didn't opt for that as I wasn't sure if I wanted every Galaxy phone but I'll also see if it isn't too late. But to be honest, this is probably the first premium that I've gotten close to release day in a very long time. I've either waited a few months/years and gotten it or did something mid tier. With 128 GB on board, I don't see myself letting go easily

3 years + easily.
I had a Note 4 from Jan 2015 - Oct 2018.

The only difference is I can't easily swap the battery for $20. We'll see.

I don't upgrade every year because I'm on a concession plan that I can only use on my "own" hardware, so I have to buy outright every time.

Since I'm not on any jump plan, it's a little silly to spend $1,000+ on a phone outright every year. That's the cost of a midrange computer. Not even gaming enthusiasts spend that much on upgrades each year.

Tell me something. If it's confirmed the Note 10 will be the last Note device, will that influence your decision to upgrade early? I have to confess in my case that would be a major factor.

I love the S pen even though I don't use it all the time. But just having it and knowing it's there. And I mainly use it for jotting down notes and sharing with the reminder app.

If I knew the Note 10 would be the last Note device, I would be tempted to upgrade so I could have a Note phone for as long as possible.

Possibly, but it defends on what features (mostly battery technology amd performance)

As someone else said, we hit a ceiling a long time ago. Everything is fast and good enough as it is.

The Note 9 mostly solved my battery anxiety, but it can get better. If the Note 10 brings some out of this world battery technology that's not a pain in the butt to care for, then color me purple and call me Barney.

I'll sell this bad boy for $800 and spend the difference.

I plan on holding on to it for a while. I might consider the Note 10 if I get BIG discounts for trade in.

Sadly I think the Note 9 will be my last Android phone. I'm going full-on Apple next year. I'm beginning to appreciate the full user experience and Samsung just does not offer that. I dare say Android/Google is incapable of offering that due primarily to fragmentation. Apple just doesn't have that problem.

Will you at least come visit us☹

Planning to pick it up next week and will probably keep it 2-3 years.

I agree, by purchasing a cutting edge phone, it should be fast enough with enough memory and storage to last me until the 2nd generation of 5g phones are out. As well as the 5g infrastructure being in place at a level where one could expect to use the 5g service most of the time.

Exactly even when 5g rolls out the note 9 not going be that slow ...everyone thinks its going be a dial up connection (AOL) 😂 maybe by 6g it be a dinosaur.

I usually keep a phone 2 years give or take.

Went from note 3 to note 5 to s8+ to note 9.
