How long does everyone anticipate keeping the Note 9?

I'm going to try my hardest to stay away from the S10 because I know the Note 10 will always be better and improves upon the S series devices.

For now I think I'll hold off til N11 (if the Note line continues) but who knows? When Tech Disease strikes I have a hard time fighting it.

Forever and always!

I've sold almost every cell phone I've had since '96 (except for the HUGE '97 Motorola and two Blackberries), upgrading typically at two yrs, but often at one if I could finagle some family member's upgrade dates around. Tho my phones usually were hand me down to my husb and mother til the next go round, and then they came back to me to sell.

But once I got the Note 3, I just couldn't part with my Notes, or miss a year. They still made the family rounds, but then they'd come home (to stay) to Mamma :)

as long as, "Samsung don't release the software to slowdown or lag the phone" it can be used till v really feel it's necessary.

3 years + easily.
I had a Note 4 from Jan 2015 - Oct 2018.

The only difference is I can't easily swap the battery for $20. We'll see.

I don't upgrade every year because I'm on a concession plan that I can only use on my "own" hardware, so I have to buy outright every time.

Since I'm not on any jump plan, it's a little silly to spend $1,000+ on a phone outright every year. That's the cost of a midrange computer. Not even gaming enthusiasts spend that much on upgrades each year.
The good thing about putting money into your PC on upgrades is it makes it appreciably better. When you pay $1000 for a phone, you are basically starting all over with a $1000 phone.

Has anyone had both the 128 and 512 models? Just curious the differences you did (or didnt) notice. I've got the 128gb and it's great for me.

According to a few YouTube videos that I've watched there isn't much difference. Except maybe when it comes to app reloads.

If the Notch makes an appearance, I will wait until under display cameras are better. Maybe Note 11. I can't see buying a Samsung with a notch. It's almost like a slap in the face.

It depends, if the Note 10 has that stupid notch then I'll be keeping the Note 9 until it croaks. If not, well... The Note 10 it will be, on pre order at that.

I upgraded from a Note3 to a Note9. So, I'll probably keep the Note9 (512/8) for a while.

Probably until their foldable phone comes out. I'm all about a phone that can turn into a tablet.

I'm still on Note8 and was going to try and get a good deal on Note9 for black Friday, Xmas or even January sales but I'm not so sure anymore, the fair big leap that S10 looks to be, I might just wait for either Galaxy F if it has the spen or wait for the Note10.
7nm processor and possibly the graphene battery tech would make me upgrade from the Note9 anyway so might just skip it altogether

That graphene battery tech would be A MAJOR phone improvement. I'm still having my doubts that coming out in the near future. But 5x times faster charging is a game changer.

I plan to keep mines for 3 years. Such a good phone and I don't think 5g will be anywhere near where I am till way after that anyway. Loved my s8 and I think I will like this even more. So pleased I made the call to leave iPhones!

So I did what was unthinkable for me and bought a Samsung convertible wireless charger. It was floor stock and 30% off. I experimented a bit and don't use fast wireless charging. Instead, I have it connected to my old S5 adapter running a USC cable. And I tried charging it on the flat and in the upright position. It works better in the upright position and when I googled it, apparently it makes a better connection like this. Also.when charging in the flat position on standard wireless charging, there is a tiny amount of heat generated. Charging in the upright position there is almost none. You can say miniscule.

If you enable fast wireless charging a fan activates but I am still less than comfortable with the heat generated.

But standard charging using the S5 adapter in the upright charging position, almost no discernable heat. Love it! For me, charges at a good rate I am happy with without worry of accelerated battery degradation.
