How Long Is HTC Going To Keep Early Upgraders Hanging?

You (me included) were in this big rush to update to .3 and spent the whole weekend bragging about having the .3 update and then Sprint pushed out the .6 update and you feel left behind because your still on .3.....

I have a friend who has the .6 and we compared phones Monday and neither of us could tell the difference. If there are any they are so minimal it's not even worth messing with.... If and when my phone gives me a notification of an update I will do it then... Until my phone works great.... and I still got Froyo before most.... LOL....

STOP WITH THE BUILD ENVY!!!!!!

I can't even find a reason to go from .3 to .6 right now. Everything seems fine. If you're having huge problems with .3, you'll probably still be having problems with .6.

I would love a simple root for .3 though >.<

Roll back from 2.2 version .3 to 2.1 and then do an upgrade to 2.2 version .6 and then later in the month or early September Sprint rolls out a special .7 or .8 version for all the people still on .3..... Then all the people with .6 will start threads "What's the difference between .6 and .7" and "How do I go from .6 to .7" and then "Can I roll back to 2.1 and then manually update to .3 so that I can OTA to .7"

Please.... it's all the same.. The Froyo 2.2 build for the Motorola Droid line of phones at Verizon will be totally different than the Froyo 2.2 build for Sprint and the EVO and I am sure when the Epic comes out and gets upgraded to 2.2 it won't be the same build number either... If it works it works.... Leave it alone....

Well here is a start, HTC support response to installing 3.26.651.3!! - xda-developers

Not sure my Sprint center is capable of understanding this or not. Might just wait for the official RUU or OTA update.


edit: Ran over to the Sprint repair center and asked about the roll back. He looked it up and found it and said to come back in about and hour. I'll let you know.

Well picked up my Evo from Sprint and it now has the OTA Froyo instead of the early version.

I just called about 15 minutes ago and they said they just got a mass email about the issue. They are recommending going in to stores and rolling it back.

I was running UnrEVOked 3 and never did the .3 update luckily. I UnRooted my phone back to the 1.47 and now I have the .6 update in and everything works awesome.

Nothing yet, I turned off Gtalk and that seems to save a bit on battery.

I'm confused. I thought HTC was working on an update for us on the leak version. Now there saying to go to Sprint and let them roll it back. I have zero issues with my leaked version of froyo I'm just worried if the current update can't see my device will future upgrades be the same. This froyo roll out has be terrible with constant mis information.

What is so hard about at least making a simple fucing tweet about what the official plan of action is going to be for those that updated the leak?? I'm gonna record the convo and post is if there is any useful information during that phone call. This is annoying already...

Jerzyiroc please do.....its almost as if we are being punished for wanting a upgrade they promoted. Kinda feel silly for wanting froyo early now. Hahaha found my first issue though. It seems that froyo (official or leak) breaks Google listen. Smh this feels like the blackberry storm with all the leaks and mis information.

I don't understand why some of you are freaking out. HTC said they would get us "back on track" But honestly I have ZERO issues with the .3 update. My wife waited for .6 and we cannot tell a difference between the two.

Seems like the issues are in the apps, not the OS itself.

The only things I'd like to see done differently would be the ability to switch to vanilla Froyo launcher, and for the dialer to recognize 7-digit phone numbers if the 10-digit number is a stored contact.
