[HOW-TO] Download/Install Honeycomb to Nook Color (SD card)

Got everything up and running fine last night although I'm missing some apps...did I miss a step somewhere or is the marketplace just too cluttered?

In particular, I'm looking for the Facebook, Gmail and Flash.

Any help would be appreciated!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the Nook Color doesn't have anything to send your location automatically (GPS, aGPS)

Correct no GPS

IIRC it "estimates" your location based on your internet connection.

My experience with Honeycomb on SD

Similar to many, I tried with a 16GB Class 10 card and got the "encrypted" message. Changed to an 8GB Class 10 and had no problems.

I then did the overclock kernel and found the system ran very sluggish. Many force/wait dialogs for just about every app. When back to standard kernel and everything was fine.

Whats the word on the next interation of HC releases?

Bleh this annoying, no matter what I do, adb devices will not recognize my NookColor when I booted into Android 3.0, only when I'm on my Rooted Android 2.1 OS. Anyone know whats wrong?

I struggled for a week with that problem. Finally someone referred me to this link. For me, it was an issue of not having the right drivers for the NookColor. I was able to install them following these instructions: NookColor USB ADB - nookDevs

Hope this helps!

I'm using OSX and am getting "Permission Denied" in the Terminal when I type in "dd if=nookhoney04.img of=/dev/rdisk# bs=1m"
Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me. It turned out that my SD card adapter has a write-protect switch on one side and it had slipped up into the position where it was protected (it was unmarked).

i tried with a 4GB class4 microsd card and honeycomb installed without any problems. but when i tried a 16gb class 10 micro sd card, i am facing the same password issue. not sure if it is 16gb or class 10 that is creating problem

Yes. It's your 16GB/Class 10 card causing the problem. THis is a known issue. Is yours a Patriot card?

Got it! When typing "dd if=nookhoney04.img of=/dev/rdisk# bs=1m" into the terminal the"#" once again must be changed into the proper number. I know it is implied but it didn't say so. Someday I'll learn a little about thinking for myself ;)

Well see, that's not the problem for me lol. When I'm booted up into the regular Nookcolor Rooted OS (the 2.1 Eclair), using the adb devices command it recognizes it instantly. But when I pop in the SD Card and boot into 3.0 Honeycomb, adb devices doesn't recognize it all. I don't even get an indication that it's hooked up to USB. Yes I turned on de-bugging, I have re-booted it and my netbook. I have tried turning on and off USB De-bugging. Still doesn't work.

when i try to install the market on my nook it says device not found...its plugged into my pc...grr i hate adb
