I like the way you guys are thinking so keep on that path certainly, the more heads working towards a common goal the higher the success rate. With that said .... I still think theres other avenues that need to be pursued at the same time so we can either validate some stuff or maybe even eliminate some stuff. I don't like being single threaded and we'd all kick our selfs in the butt if an easier way exists, we talk about it, but never tried it.
I need someone who:
1) is on VC
2) Can't root (you've tried and tried and tried)
3) Has insurance. Here's a shocker ... when you do stuff like this, theres a chance you break your phone! This week alone a very good friend of mine who's also a developer(name withheld (you know who you are

)) has bricked 2 phones ... THIS WEEK! We were not playing with root, it was an unrelated project but my point is, you must be willing to take 1 for the team because we developers do it more often than you'd believe. It's easier to take one on the chin if you have insurance. If this statement concerns you, sit back and wait and theres nothing wrong with that, but if you'd like to help us help you .... here's your chance.
I think point 3 covers it but I, Androidcentral, Android Developers are not responsible for your phone, you are. While most of us try to be as careful as possible, stuff happens.
HERE IS A LINK TO AN UPDATE.ZIP. This should be plain jane VC. I want to verify 2 things:
a) Does it flash? If not i need to know
EXACTLY what your screen says. I need as much detail as possible. No detail is to big or to small.
b) If it does flash, please, re-try rooting. Not through the ROM, use the method described in
post#1 of this thread (the recovery root method)
Looking forward to some feedback
