ok thanks do i need to delete red version from my sd before using the orange

No you don't have to delete it. According to some posts in jt1134's cwm thread over at xda you can keep both red and orange on your phone and switch between the two. Check out pages 13 andhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021 14 of this thread:

can u apply nitro dark 2.1 w red cwm or does it have to be done in orange cwm

After installing SC 2.8 CWR red is gone - I now have blue. I will have to reflash the Odin version of red and try that way then reboot into recovery and re-flash the cwm-all file..

Edit: Odin'd back to CWM red (2.5.1.x) - Flashed NitroDark 2.1 vm - booting normal.

All functions appear normal. There are some broken image traces and some odd flickering that is likely associated with the difference in framework.apk for 2.7 and 2.8. Nothing to stop me from continuing to use it.

Will likely leave the update.zip file alone until I need to wake up 3.0.0.8.

To answer the question CWM (red) will install NitroDark 1.2.. I know that orange will install as well.

I dl 2.8 voodoo so it goes straight 2 red then I jus applied update.zip for orange cwr 2 install it 2 be safe jus wasnt sure before a dl 2.8 that I could have both red n orange I thought I could only have 1 cuz everyone was satin bout 2.8 givin them blue then I realized its cuz they were runnin non voodoo

Boot back into recovery by holding the volume up, volume down, and power buttons until you see the samsung logo flash for the second time, then let go of all three buttons. Wipe cache, wipe dalvik, install just the superclean 2.6 and reboot phone. Many of us have found if you flash the rom, reboot your phone to let the ROM completely load, bot back into recovery and flash whatever theme and whatever else you want then reboot phone you get fewer force close issues. And don't do any nandroid backups. For some reason that's where a lot of people have been running into force close problems. Also when you want to switch themes, unless you know how deep the theme is customized it seems to be a better practice of doing exactly what I described above. Flash the rom separately, reboot phone, boot back to recovery and flash everything else. If the first theme you flashed has deeper customization than the one you want to flash to, remnants of the first one may be left over and cause the fc issues. Flashing just the ROM between wipes away the first theme.

I'm going from SC 2.4 to SC 2.8 and I was going to make a Nandroid backup until I read this. Are we never to make a Nandroid from here on out?

I have only had one nandroid backup I have been able to successfully restore. All others have resulted in a force close loop at boot animation. So I am not doing nandroid backups for now, just too much of a headache.

It is a very good idea to back up your current ROM prior to using Blackhole 2.x. I have run this ROM without issue and have attempted to load 3x with mixed results. Because it is pieced together there have been posters who have had pieces omitted.

A nandriod back up is a really good idea because if part of the ROM does not fully download you will have missing apps, or images on your phone.

If you did not get your current ROM backed up - ensure that you have a copy of your base ROM on your sdcard (just in case)... Hope things turn out well.
