How's your battery life?

I don't quite understand the Watch battery screen.

You are not the only one. They ruined the battery meter screen a few Android releases ago (yes, on the phone version too). Now it rarely makes sense. I am 10 hours off the charger at 74% battery and it reports:

watch idle 6%
screen 1%
Android 1%

So how does 8% = 26%?

You used up 26% of the total maximum amount of energy in your battery.

6% of those 26% (and NOT of the maximum of 100%) were used by screen idle, for example.

It wouldn't make sense to tell the user how much of the total energy was used by a certrain process or app, because that would mean you would get percentages like 0,00000000001% for many processes when your phone is at a battery level of 90%. This would be impractical. It makes a lot more sense to tell the user how much of the ALREADY USED UP energy a certain process consumed.

Where do you set up which notifications are Priority?

The instructions you received earlier aren't quite accurate. Priority notifications have to be defined in the phone's Settings menu. For example, you can decide that any alarms or calls from your children are priority. This blocks any notifications except for those defined as priority, and the watch will correspond with those settings.

Every OEM implements that setting differently, however, so you'll have to tinker with your phone, or Google specific instructions for your model.

Since this is the 2nd to have the watch I have no idea about battery consumption yet since im still playing arround and adding apps and watch faces.

Uh huh. So if that is the case, then all the numbers should add to 100%. But it adds to 8%. So what used the remaining 92% of the 26% of the battery?

Like I said, the battery usage information is junk.

Well I've had the watch for 11 days now and I only have a couple of days left to decide if I'm going to keep it. Battery life hasn't really gotten better with me having to charge it in the middle of the day if I want it to make it the whole day. Today I took it off the charger at 7 and I'm now down to 65%. According to the app I'll run out of juice before 4 pm. I'm currently running a pujie black watchface like someone else in the thread so I don't think that's the problem especially since I had no issue with it on my Zenwatch. While most days I'm at my desk so charging it isn't a huge problem I don't think I should have to in order to get a days use out of it and it leaves me worried about the days when I actually want to use it a lot for things like navigation which I haven't even had to do yet. Any advice?

Follow procedures here for a specific type of reset procedure: http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-360/471939-what-do-when-360-misbehaves.html I should probably post the content on the 360.2 forum also. If after performing the resets and running *STOCK* for days, it still has unacceptable battery life, I suspect you have a bad watch... which is an isolated incident.

Thanks for the advice, a little while after I typed that I decided that instead of just killing myself trying to figure out what was going on I should just exchange it and try a new one so that's what I did. Now if its still bad I'll just know its the watch itself with how I use it as opposed to not knowing. Bonus they started my return window over so I have more time to check out how the new one is.

I had been getting around 2 days (10PMish "Monday" till around 7 - 8 PM "Wednesday") but since updating to the Nexus 5X (And having to hard reset the watch to get it to pair) I've barely been getting 6 hours. Watch Battery says 75% screen (I have turned always on screen off) I've now tried turning off gestures and glance - have to see if it helps. Has anyone else seen a big decrease if they change the phone they're paired to? Or indeed since an upgrade to Marshmallow?

Gestures uses no noticeable power. Never heard of "glance"... if you mean tilt-to-wake, yes, that can make a big difference in power usage.

I am on Android 6 on my N5... made no difference in watch battery life. Although it hurt reliability of bluetooth connection some.

Been pretty pleased with the battery life on my 42mm. Take it off the charger around 7:30 am and typically when I go to bed at night (around 23:30) it’s usually at around 60%. Don’t use ambient display though as never been keen on how it looks.

As a comparison, my first generation 360 would be at around 25% at the end of a full day.

With tilt-to-wake off, my 360.1 would be at about 60-70% at the end of a full 16 hour day. But it would be MUCH lower if tilt were on.

Well after exchanging watches it seems like the battery life for me hasn't gotten any better. I took it off the charger around 7 this morning and 6 hours later I'm at 35%. According to the app it should die around 4 pm. This is pretty much the same I've been getting for the last 2 weeks with the exception of a couple of good days where it lasted a couple of hours longer. While I guess it isn't a huge deal since I can always charge it during the day like I do my phone while I'm at my desk I'm still kind of disappointed. I don't want to turn anything off because what's the point if I can't use it like I want to. Looks like I'll just have to deal with it or take it back.

That's a mystery, man. I received mine (46mm) yesterday. Charged overnight. I've been off the charger about 7 hours. I have everything turned on (WiFi, Cloud Sync, Tilt to Wake, Screen always on, etc.). I'm at 70% and AW says I have 17 hours left.

It must be your phone or an app you have installed.

Yep. Your drain is 4.28%/hr.

I have it all on except tilt-to-wake and heart rate stuff and I am at only 2.78%/hr (which equals 36hrs projected)! Granted, I have had zero notifications today and have interacted with it only a few times.

Well I guess I'm just unlucky then. Here are some screenshots from today and yesterday.

Yes, and that was my first full day having the 360, so I was definitely messing with it more than normal. And I still got to bed at 1am (so, approximately 17 hours off the charger) with about 40% battery left. And, again, that was with EVERYTHING turned on - well, except I have Brightness set to Auto. I suppose it would have burned more battery if I just set it to Brightness 5.....

@me23brown having 8-10% / hour drain has got to be something with his/her (? I don't know) phone or some app on the watch.

Yeah, I have no clue what is going on. I changed to a stock watch face this morning and its actually worse. 2 hrs and 40 mins in and I'm at 56%. I'm about to just charge it and reset everything on the phone and watch again to see if it helps but I'm not too hopeful as this is my second watch I don't know what to think. Maybe something on the phone is causing this but who knows.

@ crxssi - thanks, I'll give it a shot. Unfortunately I don't have any watch specific apps downloaded so all the extra apps on my watch are the ones on my phone that happen to have AW support so I will be upset if I have to take something off of my phone for my watch to have better battery life even if I never use the AW part of it. By the way does anyone even need Amazon on their watch? I don't get it.
