HTC battery thread

you could always just get a Zagg protective shield, my wife and I have it on our Eris and no issues. You can still show off the OEM body. Alternatively you may want to compare your new phone thickness and height to other phones out there, and if its roughly the same size look for those cases for that compared phone.

i agree, I disabled the facebook login, and just got the facebook app, draw back is you have an app installed, plus side is the phone sleeps more, and the facebook app is more comprehensive than the HTC facebook integration.

I actually saved alot of my battery life as well as real life by placing facebook in the trash ;)
The mobile version is decent IMHO, its the constant pounding the eris does to see what your friends had for breakfast or their farmville score that kills the battery

Hey OP, you and I aren't gonna have any trouble, are we?

The app doesn't auto update or alert or anything. Also, if you have anything that DOES auto update or sync, try adjusting the setting to sync less frequently or manual sync only. See if that helps. Things like email, contacts info sync, etc.

EDIT: sorry I meant the Facebook app

I been looking around for battery tips. Eris really sucks with it. Still this phone rockz. Is there like a summary of tips around here? Battery tips specifically. Thanks*

I'll concur on the Seidio 1750 battery. I've had it just over a week now; I now no longer worry about battery life, and have set my notification intervals to quicker times. The first time that I tried to put the back cover on, it seemed to not snap closed all the way around, but I think that I was being too gentle. It fits fine on my Eris.

I also got the Seidio 1750 battery and will strongly agree that there is a substantial battery life upgrade. I no longer have to toss the phone on the charger while at work, I typically pull it from the charger around 6am and it doesnt get back to the charger for the night until usually 11pm. I've had over 30% the last couple of days I have followed this routine, whereas I never used to even be able to go a full day without charging here and there.

the best place currently to buy the seidio 1750 mAh battery is amazon ($41 + free shipping). it's out of stock at the moment just like every other android store (coming back around 2/16, apparently), but i can wait for it to ship since I barely got my eris this past weekend :)

I just ordered mine from Seidio's online store. I can't wait, and I am holding you all responsible if I'm not satisfied. :)

For the humorless, I'm kidding, I'm sure it will be great.

I've had the 1750mah one for several days now, and I usually go to bed with about 20 to 30% left. And that will last me to about noon the next day. Today with very light use from 6AM to almost 8PM it's only down to 74%. I think this battery is totally worth it.

Just got my Seidio battery Have ?

I finally received my Seidio 1750 battery for my Eris. I have read a few threads saying to kill the battery all the way before the first full charge, and kill it completly a few times after that to get the most out of the charges. The directions from Seidio say to plug it in for 8 hrs before normal use. So do I discharge it first? Just follow the directions from them? Very anxiuos to see how well this works, worth a shot for only 50 bucks. Thanks

I got mine about a week ago, and am very pleased with it. I just charged it all the way and discharged it fully a couple of times. It lasts me about a day and a quarter now.

Ditto. When I first got mine (Jan 10th) I waited until I went to bed, replaced the stock battery with the 1750, and charged it for the 8 hours they recommended, ad then I ran it until it ran out of gas a couple of days later. Since then I just use it as I normally would.

I believe that the real reason to run it down is to train the phone's battery meter for the full capacity of the new battery.

As with any battery, charge it all the way when you get it (best over night). Then use it like crazy until the thing dies on you. Charge it up again and repeat. After 1-3 times you should be ok. Your just syncing your phone to the charging time of the battery.

only the 3500mAh battery needs a new back cover because of its thickness. the 1750mAh version adds no thickness and, in my opinion, adds just enough extra usage to the phone to make me feel safe to go out all day without a charger.

Any one try those larger Sprint Hero/TP2 batteries(1800mah and 2000mah you see on ebay), and see how it compare to the Seidio battery,
