HTC battery thread

mine has a gap wide enough to get your fingernail in starting at the volume buttons and going the rest of the way down the phone. I can't report on battery improvement yet. The instructions that came with it say performance will improve over 5-6 charges. I will report back after that.

I have received the battery and also notice the gap. It is actually worse on he right side of the phone. The battery cover Does snap completely in place.

The gap does not bother me visually but i am worried about dust getting inside the phone and ultimately showing up under the screen (had this problem with an original Motorla Q and don't want to see it again). I don't use a case on my phone at all.

Still pondering a return.

Ok, here are some photos. I'm not sure that they will illustrate things well, but these were the best that I could do.

First, a picture of the cover with the stock battery (I guess that it's hard to tell, but there are no gaps):

And this is with the cover off:

Here are the two batteries together. It may be hard to tell, but the Seidio battery really is a small bit thicker:

(continued next post, due to number of photo limitation.)

And here is the Seidio battery installed, with the cover off. It may be easier to see that this is slightly thicker than the stock battery compared with the earlier photo of the stock battery):

Finally, this is the part that is supposed to show the gap. The thing is that I seem to be able now to close the cover without leaving a gap. So, at least for me, this is a non-issue. (And yes, I did examine all along the cover to make sure that is was not gapping on the other side, or the top or bottom. It was not.)

What case are you using? I have a hard rubberized (rubber painted one) snap-op, think it will fit?

I've got this one - "Snap On Cover - Black Leather". (I am pretty sure that there is not a bit of leather on this case, despite the name.)

It fits with that.

Seido 3500 mah Battery!

Just got my 3500mah Battery from Seido today! Ill let you know about the life as soon as i get a full day out of it! honestly it makes the phone actually feel better and more comfortable in my hand. It makes it feel less like a toy phone and i do not mind the size. Check out the comparison to the moto droid. Its the same size as the stock moto droid so its good with me.

You know, I debated on whether to get the bigger battery but was afraid it may have made the phone too thick. Judging the phone by those pics, not bad at all. Looks tight.

I ended up getting the 1750, just because I really like the slim look and I am getting great battery life with my phone.

So....

How's the battery life with the 1750? 3500?
Can't speak about the 3500. I bought the 1750. My phone routine is the same. I unplug at 4:30 am. I travel 4 days a week. My phone usage is fairly close from one day to the next. With the stock battery, by the time I got home, which was around 6:30, I would have around 30-35% left. With the new battery, which I just got Tuesday, 2 days with it installed, by the time I got home, I still have about 65-70%. Tonight was a bit later than normal, around 8 pm. I unplugged earlier today too, 4 am. At 8 pm I had 60% left. Today I really used the phone more than normal, just to test it. I am happy with the results.

Was it worth the $59? Hell yea. And in case you read other-wise, the back cover fits perfectly over the new battery.

I'm still debating on which one to get. I like the cover I have on the phone for bumps and I don't think any of the covers will fit with the 3500. I asked at Seido if they have an Inotek cover for the 3500 and haven't recieved and answer yet from them. How's the life on it?

Awesome, I don't think I strain mine as much as you do, so it sounds like I could stretch it into about a day and a half. I unplug at 7AM and use it fairly heavily at work to about 5PM, then it generally sits unused unless one of my brothers call. Those calls last an hour (at least.) I think I'm going to jump on it.

sweet, doesn't look too thick, it definitely looks different though. i'd be curious to see how the battery does now... a week without a charge? lol... eh that would be great.
