HTC Thunderbolt Official Specs

Dude, Launcher Pro Plus! Better than all of them, and it makes sense look choppy. The HTC dock is pretty awful, and LLP will give you a REAL dock. My opinion : )

I actually have no problem with HTC's launcher. it's not good but it's not bad and I am not wanting to spend 3 bucks.

I have yet to try the new sense, and for the most part, it is the better corporate UI. I would dump it on the DOLT and run LPP:cool: We have options!

I would def say its not a evo clone.. call it a evo... evolved if u will... faster proc.. better designed body (no cam hump) and new sense.. much better gpu and muuch more refined. Least in my book it doesn't sound like a clone.. maybe Evo2?

same crappy res screen?

When I last looked at the Actual screen it was good. Nothing crappy about it I thought. I would like to know too...

The Evo screen is OK, but nothing special. In different ways, it is inferior to the iPhone4, the GS SAMOLED, and the DX (which has a better aspect ratio, IMHO). My guess is that several of the devices we see in January will have much better screens as well.

The "new" snapdragon processor. Is it faster than 1.2Ghz? Does it have a faster GPU than the Motorola X's and Samsung's Hummingbird? I'd expect all of these things from a newer device.

The new snapdragon at 800mhz is faster at CPU task then the d2g at 1.2 and the gpu is almost as fast as the one in the hummingbird. Its a beast for a single core CPU and I would take this over the Motorola Etna any day of the week screen Res may be 480?800 though I wish they would use a higher Res screen

No device will replace my EVO until I see a 4.3" screen with resolution equal to or besting the iPhone's 960*640. I don't understand why people keep putting out "new" phones that are already second best in ANY spec - at least these flagship devices anyways.

it's not always a competition between manufacturers. the iphone's screen will be unmatched for a while. the thunderbolt will tie or beat the iphone in every aspect except display resolution. i am willing to give up that for everything else the thunderbolt has over the iphone.

I think my EVO already bests the iPhone in everything but that spec, so I see no reason to buy a new phone. Sure it will be a little quicker, but there's no WOW factor over what I've got now.

+1, I think Ill have my EVO for a while. I dont see any point in upgrading until I see higher res screen, dual core cpu and better gpu. I would prefer it came in the same exact shell as my current EVO as well! :)

On the other hand, I am trying to get my friend into an Android set and he is on Verizon, so this "Thunderbolt" looks very promising. I have played with a Droid X as well as the Galaxy phones, HTC definitely has the best UI out of the 3 and seems to be way easier to root and toy around with. I cant wait to see what HTC is doing for Sprint in Q2-3!

+1 for you :) HTC's UI is definitely the best and easy to use. the droid X is a little laggy in my opinion and all the HTC phones i have used are very, very snappy. I don't like touchwiz at all.

Still a bit confused about the device name. Is HTC still using the codename "Mecha" for this device?(Which I really did like) Or is "Thunderbolt" only Verizon's official name for it now? I assume the "Incredible HD" moniker has been dropped.

I think thunderbolt is final. Htc Thunderbolt 4G or Droid Thunderbolt 4G. They will definitely throw a 4G in there somewhere.

I would would have preferred the name Mecha as well, or even incredible 4G.
