I have a G4, you have questions — ask away!

Looking at the LG G4’s interface, some of the elements look a tiny bit overcooked. The YouTube logo pops so hard it’s almost difficult to look at. But at least it’s not as bad as the Nexus 6’s screen, which is drowned by colour.

Quick question, I did some research beforehand but couldn't find a good answer. I may have missed a post, so be gentle please!

Is there a wired headset that permits "magic button" (play/pause, answer calls, etc) AND volume control for the LG G4, similar to the stock headphones for the iPhone. Only thing I really miss about my Apple days. If so, what should I look for? Has LG adopted some standard?

In addition to multiple apps, the new LG UX can also handle two users. The guest account (you get only one) is set up differently, including a separate Google Play account and homescreen. You still need to be careful though, the two accounts aren't isolated so it won't protect you from malicious users. It's nice for a personal/work setup or if you want to share your phone with your kid though.

I thought Verizon foxfi didn't charge for tethering anyway. Unless some people that still have unlimited data get charged for tethering?

Just picked up my new G4 Sunday :-)). Couldn't find an onboard flashlight, so downloaded one (Superbright, I think) Is the LG flash a slightly greenish color, or is this the app? Also, a good barcode reader that doesn't sell my life story. I looked at one that wanted access to lots of stuff and didn't know if that was standard practice.

I use Tesla LED (it works well with Nova Launcher, although I think it works well on its own.) I've never noticed a greenish colour, although to be honest I haven't paid that close attention. I can't see how the app would affect the LED colour.

For a barcode reader, I use Google Goggles. It can recognize qr-codes, text on a business card, signs on buildings, and even objects you may see (a type of flower, etc.)

By the way, speaking of "access to lots of stuff", have you tried out the "Access Lock" hidden menu trick described in this thread http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g4/544464-app-ops-access-lock-works-g4.html ? You can disable pretty well any type of access for any downloaded app... although certain ones may mess up the app if you disable them.

There's a flashlight in the shortcuts in the notification drawer. Just FYI!

I use exchange and I was wondering is it better to use the outlook app or just use the native email system avail through the OS?

Native app works well for me. There's also a way to do it thru the Gmail app if you're interested in that also.

My problem with the native app is that there was no decent widget (I use Nova launcher). I went with Nine ($10) - 2 benefits : the widget is excellent and flexible, and the ui is very similar to gmail. It has good exchange integration.

Is there a setting to disable the shutter sound for the camera? I know I can change the volume for media sound in settings, but was hoping for a separate setting where I don't have to change my sound profile to silence the shutter.

Not that I've seen, and I've played a lot with the camera app.

Only was is to put your sound profile on vibrate.

Hello all, I'm not sure this has been asked but I just picked up my G4 last week and took advantage of the leather back, battery and charger promo the same day I purchased and have yet to get a conformation aside from the robo response after the submission. How long does the promotion items process normally take ?
