I'm beginning to regret getting this phone

For the first month, I went on and on about how this is without a doubt the best phone I have ever owned, but now that cool new tech toy high has worn off, this is phone in sincerely pissing me off.

I'm getting reboots like CRAZY. It's happening at least 4-5 times a day. That's the reboots I noticed. Several of them have occured when I was on a call. More when I was using the simplest of apps. And then - bang - there it goes.

The GPS radio is a POS. Took 15 minutes yesterday to find the sattelites. Two minutes later, it was lost again.

The battery just seems to get worse. I've stripped the thing down to the barest essentials and it's worthless.

The only good news I can find is that I got an iPhone 4 from my job and you couldn't pay me to own one of those things personally. That thing is unbelievably unflexible and not very pretty. Apples grey/bluish grey color scheme looks like crap. Android as an operating system is so much better than Apple's. The Droid browser smokes Apple, even on 3G.

So, in summary, HTC and Verizon need to get their damn act together, pronto. There is no reason this phone should be this unstable.

Oh, and one other thing.

They clearly marketed Skype on this thing and it was a sham. They clearly marketed 8gb of internal memory and that was a complete lie.

Sorry to hear you're having so many problems man. Since the update I've only gotten 2 random reboots and after clearing the aGPS cache my GPS locks on like a pro. Maybe a factory reset would help?

even after the update , this is still by far the best device yet. No issues here.

Maybe the iphone is the way you should go.

I'm really sorry to hear this too! I am beginning to wonder if there were build issues with the phones themselves.I dont have any of those issues now or even before the update.

Yeah, the battery sucks, but it is kind of expected with large screen and multiple radios. Still, it is not that bad and I expect it will get better.

Perhaps you could swap the phone out for another?

Did you install the latest OTA update?

I've read that Verizon is replacing phones for those who are having reboot issues after the OTA.

Sorry to hear about all of that -- I personally have had none of those issues.

Did you not read what I said about the iPhone?

And no, this is not the best device yet. The best device yet would at least be more stable than this for more people than just yourself.

Yes. I forgot what day that was that it came out. Last Thursday? I installed it on day one.

I had a few random reboots before, but it is absolutely out of control now, so the update is without a doubt the culprit.

I would for sure go to the big V and have them look at it/replace the phone if at all possible.

read the forums, i am not the only one not having issues. Nobody creates "i have no issue threads",
they create "i have issues threads"

i am sorry you are having problems, maybe this just isnt the phone for you.

regards,

Mine is still woring fine after the update. My GPS lock appears to be even quicker, like 10 seconds, instead of 15.

Yours is broken. Get a replacements. There is a warranty for that.

Yeah, the update broke some phones. No need to go off the deep end. A bad update or two happen to most devices, especially first generation ones. They know about it and they'll fix it. In the mean time, go into a store and complain. You'll probably get a new device and/or some cool swag to hold you over.

Wow. A phone these days is considered "great" when it "only" has random reboots in the single digits.

Thunderbolt best phone ever. At least for me and many others. No re_boots, over 15 hours battery life, fast as infierno, etc. Sorry to hear you have problems.

Sent from my HTC Thunderbolt.

Considering everything else the phone does I can deal with the phone rebooting when I'm not using it, as that's when they rebooted. Go get an iPhone if you hate your phone so much.

Maybe you should swap TB's with SOKAR and see how you like it.

Third reboot since 8am. Slightly under 3 hours.

That's it. I'm calling these blithering idiots at Verizon. I will not under any circumstances accept a refurbished phone. I want a new one.

There's a store right up the street from me. Would I be able to switch it out there or are they just going to piss me off more than I already am?
