Just pulled the trigger on a 64GB Graphite model.....gonna be a big jump up from my 8GB Nexus 4!

When you guys say the temporary/ pending charge get dropped after a few days, is that bank specific? I order on Oct. 1st and the temp charge is still there. I have Wells Fargo.

Same for me. I ordered on Sept 29, and I haven't seen the charge disappear yet.

It could be bank specific. I used my capital one cc for it, and the charge fell off after about 5 days.

Ordered one from Google Store right after the page went live but later cancelled it and ordered via GetHuawei.
Spoke to a Huawei customer rep and was told that their stock ships at the same time as Google Store's and there is no set release date yet.
Fingers crossed it is not 4-5 weeks.

PS: Huawei has no option to choose anything other than 5-7 business days standard shipping.

Some banks will hold your funds in 'limbo' longer to collect interest before crediting it back to you. The company charging you doesn't have your funds, you don't have your funds, but your bank has your funds. Totally dishonest.

But if it's a credit card, it's not your funds, hence the term credit (the ability of a customer to obtain goods or services before payment, based on the trust that payment will be made in the future). I've never understood why people care about pending or temporary credit card charges. They cost you nothing and it's not your money anyways.

umm... alot of people use debit/check cards. those ARE their funds. and before you get on your high horse about why not use credit card, there are people out there, believe it or not, that do not have credit cards.

anyway, i ordered mine on friday, 128 GB black 6p google says nov 10-12. god i hope it's sooner than that because i'm gonna have to send back my moto x pure real soon... guess will have to settle with my zenfone 2 for a few weeks until the 6p comes in.

Hi

I see money returned to my credit card (ordered the 64GB version) but the order still show processing with Nov 3-10 shipping. Anyone else seeing this?

You're quite right that some people use DEBIT/CHECK cards for these purchases. It's a very poor practice though (especially if funds are short and you can't afford to be without all of your funds for a few days). A real credit card is always the best option (especially when making large purchases), because you get better fraud protection and your funds aren't tied up if you have to dispute a charge.

As for those that don't have real credit cards, I won't speculate as to why (and I'm not saying that those that used DEBIT/CHECK card couldn't get a real credit card), but if my credit was so poor that I couldn't get or use one, I wouldn't be buying flagship smartphones for $500-600. But to each their own.

My order from Sep 29th still says "PREORDERED" with an expected delivery Nov 10-12th. I didn't pay for overnight or anything, so I expect it could have been a week sooner if I had. I'm not pressed. Coincidentally, I'll have those days off from work, so that kind of works out for me to be available to accept delivery. I wouldn't complain if it came sooner though. :p

Oh, and I ordered the 64GB Aluminum.

I get that, and it's a valid concern in that case, but it seems like many people complaining about it here do in fact mention using credit cards.

Yeah, that's what makes me wonder. If they're using a real credit card, why would they be complaining about bouncing checks or a pre-authorization charge? I thought those were only issues when DEBIT/CHECK cards were used. Certainly wasn't an issue for me with my credit card.

What I don't get is what are people putting on their phones that need 64 or 128GB? Not judging, just wondering. I have a 32GB Nexus 6 that still has 21GB free and I have a lot of crap on it.

Fair enough question. In all honesty, in my particular case, I don't NEED 64GB. I just WANTED 64GB. My current Nexus 5 gets along fine with its 32GB. That's fine for what I currently do with my Nexus 5; however, the Nexus 6P has more capabilities that have the potential to use more storage (a larger camera sensor and 4K video capability, for example). If I'm going to use the new phone to its potential, I'll potentially need more on-board storage. I do keep a certain amount of music "pinned" on my Nexus 5, even though I use cloud storage for my entire library. I also like to "pin" movies from time to time for those instances where I'm going to be away from WiFi (and don't want to burn though gigabytes of cellular data).

I'm not a gamer, but there are those that love to play very heavy graphics-laden games that take up gigabytes of storage. Load up a few of those and you'll burn though quite a bit of on-board storage (even on phones equipped with microSD cards).

So there are valid and reasonable circumstances where people would want the extra storage, even if they do use cloud storage as well.

I like to keep a copy of my google play music library on my phone because sometimes I commute in the subway, so I can't stream music there. I also follow a few video podcasts and like to keep HD quality versions of the most recent episode on my phone. More storage also makes it easier to keep more photos and videos on the device rather than in the cloud. The cloud is great, but it can be painful to wait for stuff to download when you have spotty coverage. I have 32 gigs now and I don't have enough free space for my entire music library of only about 8 gigs, because I don't want to get close to maxing out the storage as that can cause performance issues. Plus I have a Samsung device, so it's got a ton of bloat.

I'm coming from an 8gb Nexus 4 and it's only been within the last couple months that I've maxed it out....so the 64gb that I ordered will be a massive difference but for not much extra $ I figured why not?

I'm a trucker, listen to alot of podcasts. at any given I can have 2-3 gb worth of downloaded podcasts on my phone. have my entire music collection on my phone as well, synched with Spotify I believe it's at something like 15 gb. toss in all my apps, pictures videos etc and you get above that 32 gb Mark pretty easily. right now I have about 26 gb free on a 64 gb phone, but u am using sd card for pictures etc.

64 would probably be sufficient but I'd have to watch if and probably periodically move stuff off to my laptop, I'd rather just go to 128 for a few bucks more because **** it why not.

Yeah. I just hate the fact that they've removed SD card support and started charging a premium for storage, just like Apple. I store a lot of music from Google Play music, but if I'm traveling I have a tablet or a 1080P Chromebook for movies. Even keeping all my photos on the phone as well as online, I can't ever imagine using 128GB of storage on a phone.
