Thank yu, sparksd....the partitions cache wipe improved the performance immensely.
Honestly, I'm beginning to lose interest. I suppose we're all supposed to be jonesing for this update, but the way Google is handing it out seems absurdly arbitrary. I guess one day I'll get an alert, but by then I may just not care.
I was counting on Google being the one Android device vendor I could count on to have their %$#@ together, but between their handing off the Nexus 9 to HTC ('cause Asus did such a poor job with the N7? Really?) and this rollout, I'm beginning to wonder.

Still nothing now I am getting annoyed. All the other devices got the update. At least a news article saying it was pulled would be good.
It's not arbitrary, a Google engineer explained it to Leo Laporte last week. It's a 4 week rollout. First week 1% of nexus devices selected randomly, 2nd week is 25%, 3rd week another 25%, and 4th week is all the remainder. They do it this way to help discover bugs before the updates hit 100% of devices.Honestly, I'm beginning to lose interest. All of which sounds good, but if the early adopters got the bugs, then what? Too bad for them? Don't get it-if it wasn't ready to roll out, why do it? Think I'll wait til the smoke clears; til then Kit Kat is purring on my N7.Don't get me wrong, I prefer Google to all other vendors, and I think they are doing things other companies can only dream about, but the combo of releasing a new tablet that is getting, at best, mixed reviews, and how this update is going gives me the feeling they may be losing their grip. Dare I say it? Feels a little Microsofty to me.
Every single OS out there has the same problem. There are always bugs that escape testing that don't get caught until the public release. Rather than be upset, I'll give Google credit for not rolling the whole thing out en masse and then scrambling to patch up everyone instead of a smaller portion.
Remember, Apple had to recall iOS 8.0.1 too. The process is easier for them because they make all the phones it goes on.
