Launcher Pro makes the Fascinate the phone it should be.

So when the froyo update comes what effects will that have on an installed launcher? Will the launcher need to be installed, then update to froyo, then reinstall launcher? Thanks don't really understand how this works.

You can backup LP's settings in the preferences menu.

This has nothing to do with the launcher, but I highly recommend a hard reset when Froyo comes out. Every phone I've seen get this update has benefited by starting fresh.

If I restart TW to clear all the icons and widgets will it affect all the work I have done setting up my layout in LP when I re-launch it??

FWIW, when my DINC got the 2.2 push it booted up with all my apps and home screens in place.

I upgraded to Plus last night and don't see any difference. Is the only difference the ability to use the LP widgets? I hadn't tried to use any of the LP widgets and didn't have any intention to.

Where do you find launcher pro + for $1.99? I see it for $2.99 on their website. Thanks!

oK, I accidentally clicked on TW for default again lol. How do I get LP back as an option?

Go to settings > applications > manage applications > left capacitive button > filter > All > select TWLauncher > the click on clear defaults. If you think you might make that mistake again, or want to switch back and forth between launchers, you can download a free app called Home Switcher from the market.

I am trying LP and it isnt too bad. Do have a problem with the dock when I press the phone or calendar icon I get a "Could not launch requested activity" message. Is this due to it being the free version? Anyone else have this problem?

Just a reminder to everyone. If you decide you want to use LP, go into each of the TW homescreens and delete all icons and Widgets that are currently there. This will ensure they are not running in the background, resulting in better battery life and optimal performance.

I have Homeswitcher installed, can I just switch back to TW and do this, then back over to LP?

Also, what is it that I should be deleting? Just drag all the icons on the homescreen into the trash bin? Or physically delete whatever's on there?

What is a "hard reset"? And how do we do it? Is it just wiping the slate clean basically?

I'd like to know this as well....didn't see an answer to this question posted?

It's basically HTC Sense and it is great. Since I have an HTC EVO there is no need for that launcher. I am glad you like it. I never would use a different one.
except for the resizable widgets, wallpaper scrolling behavior, 4 or 5 row homescreen layouts, the ability to add/subtract homescreens, the ability to hide the status bar, scrollable dock that can store up to 15 (editable)shortcuts instead of Sense UI's (static)3, icons that can have the shortcut name, or image edited, Twitter widget that allows you to jump straight to your @replies or dms directly from the widget, Facebook widget that allows you to view your inbox directly from the widget, a Calendar widget that allows you to jump between grid view and agenda view on the fly, and....a bunch of other features that let you edit the speed you can scroll, the color your icons glow when highlighted-whether or not you want them to glow, gestures to allow secondary functions to the dock items, downloadable backgrounds and icon packs, 3D drawer or regular drawer, etc etc etc...all while using less system resources.

but yea, besides all of that, it's just like Sense UI.

Is that for a rooted Fascinate? When I go to settings > applications > manage applications; there is no 'left capacitive button' (nor 'left' anything nor 'button' anything nor 'capacitive' anything).

I still have all the icons on TwLauncher but I set the default to LauncherPro, I can't figure out how to go back to TwLauncher. If you don't set the default it let's you choose between the two whenever you press the 'Home' button.

No, it's not a function of rooting. Watch this.

TY Cory. Seems so obvious after the first time but I would never have thought that meant 'press' left capacitive button.

I installed Launcher Pro today and must say I really like the way it looks over the stocks Fascinate launcher but I had a few problems. My screen wouldnt time out even if I set it at 15 sec, I had to manually turn it off. The other problem is the screen would stutter when flipping through the apps when installing them on the screens. I still had all the icons and widgets installed in the stock launcher and wondered if that would cause the stutter. What about the screen timing out?
