Nope, and root is built into this release so you won't have to do it after updating either.

I have been watching the forums for the last 2 days blow up about DL30 and have not tried it yet but want to just have a couple questions first. I have vodooo on my phone and I just disabled it and am getting redy to wipe everything twice to be safe and reboot after then do I just boot back to red recovery and follow your step by step instructions.
I'm on DL05 do I need to go to Dl09 first

Yup. Since you already have a working CWM you can just jump to step 20 in the first post and go right to installing the DL30.zip from your SD card. Make sure to also wipe your cache partition when you wipe your data.

So after 48 hours the only bug I've encountered is that my Program Manager Widget sometimes disappears. Not a huge bug, a minor annoyance at best.

I got the red CW from jts latest Kerrenl I havent upated anything in CW it did it on its own I guess when I instaled vodoo I take it. And would it be better to be on DL09 not 2nd guess you Kill but just seen a lot of people have problems and dont really want to have the same issue so I'm just trying to ask before I have problems

I bet vzw/samsung leaked dl30 them selves to see what bugs are out there on a larger scale other then thierbeta testers. I think we have fixed more bugs in the first hour then they did since they had it from the start

So I just did a bad thing. I got the new update EA28. Will this method of getting Froyo work or will I have to flash back to DL09? I also lost root, do I just have to re-root and then do the instructions?

i installed update and phone was sending blank text messages. tried to do a factory reset and now it talks in a robotic voice saying "system not available" does anyone know how to fix this?

I think I found a solution to the "message to large" issue with stock email client.. go to manage applications in settings, and under "all" find data, select clear cache and clear data, restart email and it worked (for me at least)

flash cwm through odin. go into green cwm recovery install new_cwm. wipe data. wipe cache. then install dl30 and youll be rooted

samsung logo appears, disappears and reappears but there goes the robot voice again..
