Hmm, I was thinking battery temps.
That would still be ok even for battery temp. 50C is about as hot as I would want a battery, though.

I got the warning just now, it was my bad though I place it in direct sunlight while watching YouTube for 30 minutes.

So all this is just a warning right, nothing to get excited about?

Leaving it in the sun will obviously not allow it to properly cool itself. If the phone didn't shut down on its own you probably have nothing to worry about.
I have the 16gb UK version with 2gb ram and I am all too often getting the phone overheating and turning off. It usually occurs if I have the phone plugged in and watching a vid or using Waze. The rear buttons get "very" hot!
by any chance anyone tried to use it as a GPS navigator to see if it can work for lots of hours without overheating or shutting down.?????
thanks

Not sure what you consider lots of hours but the first day I had mine I used it for two hours using Google Maps navigation - no issues
What is incredible about the overheating warning pop up is it means, during testing, LG became fully aware of the propensity for the G3 to overheat to dangerous levels. Instead of correcting that serious flaw, LG incredibly decided to send the faulty device to market anyway with a WARNING message to let you know that your device is getting too hot!! That's how much respect LG has proven to have for the consumer. We won't fix the issue. Instead we'll warn you when it's about to happen. And then throttle your device and render it useless until the problem passes. And thank you for paying top dollar.
What would we do if, after buying a new car, the dealer says, "The engine may overheat on the way home. If it does, a warning light will appear on the dash and you'll have to pull over and turn the car off for a few minutes until the engine cools down."
In order to get ahead in the spec race, LG ended up throwing the baby out with the bath water. Consumer be damned. It's no wonder that stores are reporting the G3 as the most returned or exchanged mobile device so far this season.
No company can earn my business with practices like that. Though I'll do business with defective merchandise for a discount.
Nreeldeep just can't resist another rant lol
