LG G4 AT&T Marshmallow update

Not sure if it was a coincidence but I did a reboot after clearing the cache for Google play services and Google play store, tried to do the upgrade and it worked.
I did a reboot without clearing the cache and the error disappeared. At least I THINK that's what fixed it.

Re: LG G4 AT&T Marshmallow update

I uninstalled Play Services and after a couple of tries it let me reinstall it and then I was ok.

troshs - I'm not getting my update either way T_T LG bridge just keep saying "Your phone is up to date". I think I will have to put a AT&T sim card T_T.

In fact, I lack an update, that of october. My phone has never gotten any update. Never. And I know there was one by the time I already owned the phone.

What to do? T.T

Thank you so much for replying me back! :)

So I did this update last night. Open my phone this morning and have a message saying "Google Play services must be updated in order to continue using it" (something to that effect). So i click the notification and it takes me to the google play store and to the google play services. The only option is to deactivate. So I click it. and it says "This app is a device administrator and must be deactivated before uninstalling" with ok as an option. Click OK and nothing happens. But this warning continues to pop up.

Anyone else having this issue?

Had the same issue, I had to reboot the phone around 5 or 6 times to get it to work. Each restart Android would optimize some applications (between 10 or 20) after the 5th restart, it stopped showing the optimizing and Google Play Services showed the update as being available... It was weird.

Re: LG G4 AT&T Marshmallow update

The VzW version better be spectacular. We've waited long enough for it. I probably just tempted fate...

I put my at&t sim in tonight, just in case, hit check for updates, and it was checking for a REALLY long time... Several minutes. I accidentally touched the screen outside the checking window and it went away. However the check update button had been replaced and now said "communication in progress" or something. When I touch it I get a toast saying that "a new software version is available, check notification panel for progress". Only there's nothing going on there. A minute later it went away and the button said check for updates again. Now it says I'm up to date and can't check for a day. F THAT.

This is what it's doing. Then it just goes back to saying up to date.

Just noticed the phone now says "fast charging" when connected to a charger that supports it... :)

You might want to read through the Sprint and International 815 MM threads for what has been updated, they're all LG G4s.

Got the update a couple of days ago. The battery life on my phone has gone from excellent to horrible and unacceptable. It's a deal breaker for me. Also, the Google now option of swiping up from the home button seems to be gone. I used that all the time.

Marshmallow fail.

From what I'm reading, the battery metering takes a few charge cycles to straighten out. I *think* my battery is better today than last couple of days but will keep checking it.

The Google swipe up from home button has been replaced by a long press of the home button - it's still there :)

My G4 just froze up for the first time since I purchased it in early December, one day after I updated to 6.0. Actually it wasn't a total freeze up. The camera was unresponsive and the phone would not power down. I had to remove the battery to reboot, which did solve the problem. Should this issue be attributed to the update?

If battery life falls dramatically after a major OS update, it's generally recommended to perform a factory reset and do a clean setup and App re-installs. Yeah it can be a pain, but it's necessary sometimes. I normally do a factory reset after an Android version update just as a general practice, but I didn't this time as my battery performance has been fine (similar to how it was pre-update).

It may take a while. When did you purchase your phone? If it's a newer one it won't be ready just yet. Give it about a week and see what happens. Of you don't get anything try contacting LG.

Anyone else having issues receiving mms since the update?

I've played with the apn settings, rebooted, switched between airplane mode, and turned the data off and on.
