LG G4 Battery Life Thread

Re: Is this normal battery drain?

Did you take any screenshots of the battery usage? Did you look to see if your phone went into roaming or lost service completely? Both of those things, especially having no service, can call any kill battery quickly.

No, I didn't think of that (screenshots). I'm pretty sure it never lost service or went into roaming. Every time I checked it was on 3G.

If it didn't lose service and drained that fast then something was running rogue or something was trying the sync.

Also, sometimes it doesn't take much interference for the phone to go from no cell service to showing 3g. In a not so great area, that could be just having it in your pocket.

But without screenshots or you checking battery use its almost impossible to say for sure.

Re: Is this normal battery drain?

Also and background apps and the sync is going to be much slower on 3G, using battery life. BG apps like Google, weather, etc.

Re: Is this normal battery drain?

Thanks, all. Next time this happens I'll investigate a little further and take a screenshot or two. Might've been something simple like the Google calendar or weather widgets trying to sync.

LG G4 80% Battery no Sim

My phone for a few weeks keeps showing 80% battery regardless of what it is on, does not alter and fails to see the sim.

1 in 20 reboots gets it working again.
I have two batteries so know it is not the battery and have received a new sim and this has made no difference either - appears to backdate to last software update possibly from memory.

Re: LG G4 80% Battery no Sim

It may be worth considering LG Backup & Reset.

Re: T-Mobile My Account App - Battery Drain!

There are tons of apps that come up when searching for "Debloater Tool". Could you be a little more specific so as to download the correct app?
Thanks in advance!

Re: LG G4 weird standby battery drain

My phone went from 100% to 15% within 3.5 hours just on standby! I HATE THIS PHONE!!!

Are you just here to complain or do you want help?

If it drained that fast, you either had no cell service or the was a rogue app running in the background.

horrible battery

My lg g4 has absolutely bad battery life. Even after turning sync, GPS, and location services off, it still is horrible. Any suggestions.

Start by posting some screen shots so we can see what is eating the battery.

Battery Drain

I've always been impressed by my battery life, until 2 days ago.
I'm not a power user, but I do leave sync, WiFi, location turned on all the time. Usually my phone will last from 06:00 to 22:00 amd still have charge left. My usage style hasn't changed.
I've also not installed any apps for a long time.

However, in the last two days, my battery has been draining at roughly 1% per minute. I don't appear to have any open, running apps, and I have strong 4g signal for the majority of the time.
In battery info, Android System seems to be the biggest drain at over 65% with anything else below 5%.
It got to the stage where my external portable charger couldn't pump power back in quick enough, and could only manage to hold the charge level at 3%.
The phone itself *maybe* feels warmer more often, especially the screen.
I've allowed the phone to completely discharge and power off, as well as powering off myself. I've not done a battery pull yet as my case is a pain to remove (£5 eBay 'rugged' special, but I have a habit of destroying phones!).
I can't see any rogue apps running, but am at a loss as to what is causing this sudden loss in performance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Battery Drain

When the System or Android OS uses a lot of battery like that, it often resolves itself after a reboot. See how that works for you.

Re: Battery Drain

By 'reboot' do you mean a simple turn off and on again (dome with no joy), a battery pull and leave for a while, a combination of button holds (like on my old GS4), or a full blown hard reset (I'm all backed up but am loathed to do this.
Forgive me, I know a little which is often a dangerous thing!!
Cheers.

Re: Battery Drain

A reboot is a Power Off and Restart. Have you tried that, with no success?

Try also Settings, Storage, Cached Data, and clear the cache, followed by a Power Off and Restart.
