[LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.6 (8/06/11)

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Just lost my SD Card for a while... had to pull it and insert it into a USB adapter card, connect that to my PC and run a form of chkdisk to fix the disk... looks like I lost my last backup image of LTBv2.3.... but I'm back up and running now.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

My phone was ringing this morning but now it doesn't. All settings are correct with volume etc. Any ideas what could cause this and how to fix it. It goes straight to voicemail.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Yes it is a Gingerbread ROM, hence the Thunderbread name.
I may be wrong but this ROM only works with AOSP kernels and is listed as 1 of 3 ONLY AOSP roms that are available for the thunderbolt right now...agian, I could be wrong.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

so far today i am highly impressed with the battery, by this time of day i would be plugging in.
i also about 2hrs ago flashed a new kernel tiamat. suppose to really help the battery also
oh let me add this is about 1/3 wifi and about 2/3 4G

Did Tiamat end up fixing the wifi error they were getting? I couldn't get wifi to work at all on it when I tried it a couple of days ago.

You are correct. This is a Gingerbread AOSP build, like CM7, OMFGB, MIUI (I think that's all of them). There are apparently a couple of other guys working on AOSP ROMs, but I doubt you'll see to many more anytime soon.

On this ROM, only gingerbread AOSP kernels will work, there are a few out there (Kang Bang, LeanKernel, Tiamat), and all of them are pretty good, so I wouldn't worry too terribly much about which you use.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

OK guys... need some help here....

I have installed the 2.4 ROM and the Kernel in the first post. After the reboot, the TB keeps saying "Searching for Service". I have rebooted it like 8 times but it keeps on saying "Searching for Service" and the signal bars are all red. Any ideas guys?

And when I attempt to make a call it says "Mobile Network not available'

I sent you radio install instructions.

That's great you made it this far! Let's flash a new radio.

MR2+ RADIO => DOWNLOAD NOW http://bit.ly/o19A0C

Follow the instructions below to flash the radio.

[rename the radio file] PG05IMG.zip (make sure its not .zip.zip or it will not work, this is dependent on your version of windows).
Once its named correctly and place it on your sd card
Power of the phone.
Hold volume down and press power. It should ask you if you want to install, hit power to select "yes"
After it installs just reboot
Delete the file from your sdcard

That's great dude!

I would guess it didn't touched your radio, just that it wasn't compatible for some reason either on the radio or rom side.

About the beer, I do work in Alexandria, haha.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

I do have to report I had some trouble... HAD some trouble... I end up having to do a data wipe, clear cache and clear Dalvik cache... then installed v2.4 again, fresh... and of course download everything again from the Market... I'm sure I could have done a backup and restore from MyBackup Root, but I did not do a full backup of apps and data, just some data I really, Really needed (Angry Birds Rio).

My Beautiful Widget's weather is picking up my current location with Geolocation... the first couple seconds it came up it had me in Paris (haven't been there in years, but I have been there).

Additionally, even though I don't see a Navigation app anymore... I can still use the Navigation that is part of GoogleMaps... or click on an Address with in a Calendar appt, which will take me to GoogleMaps, click on it, Directions, Navigation. It picked up my current location and took me right there.

What was the trouble? Things just start wacking out?

I just installed this. I'm test it out for a few days.

Edit- Oh man... Gingeritis 3D just got an update... the last one was amazing but would freeze and I'd have to pull batteries. What ever will I do... so many awesome roms, so little time.

First, after I flashed v2.4 the GPS was not working... so I thought I'd use an old Das BAMF ROM to get a lock on, then go back the v2.4... old trick, but when I did it I got a Forced Close on the System when it tried to boot up... I guess I'm going to delete that old ROM backup.

Pro tip I read by erishasnobattery the other day. Don't put spaces in you nandroid backup names. Not saying you did, but it was a good time to bring it up.

By any chance, did you?

No... but I have been changing the folder names so I know what ROM or version of a ROM I backed up... example: 2011-07-23.17.30.00 becomes 2011-07-23.Liquid.2.4

Much easier to remember what's in what backup folder... but no spaces.

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Yea, I do the same thing. If I do it on the back it will probably sort better huh, lulz :p

Re: [LINK][ROM] Liquid Thunderbread v2.4 (7/22/11)

Finally figured out why I'm in Paris again... I don't keep my Wifi turned on all the time... guess I'm going to have to change that... when you look at the Wifi settings under Settings > Location & security settings > Use wireless network - it says "Location determined by Wi-Fi and/or mobile network" which is checked in my case... so it Wifi is off then my Geolocation is not working... hence I'm in Paris (I guess I'm on vacation)!!!!

So I need to leave my Wifi turned on... which even when I'm away from an actual wireless router it should determine my location from the mobile network... I'll find out for sure when we head north for a few hours later today.
