Not sure if this is already posted but if you have keyboard out and try to use the phone app in landscape, pressing the speaker button will turn off the screen and goto the lock screen. also when receiving a call in landscape keyboard open the screen turns off randomly. very annoying

Agreed. My Pre handled this scenario perfectly.

Except with my Pre, 2 out of my 3 cars barely worked on bluetooth and had atrocious interference. It took them 6 months to get it working on Infiniti/Nissan and then they broke Toyota towards the end.

Hey so am new to this forum and I just have a question and wondering if other people are experiencing the same thing...

So lets say I have my phone in portrait mode and I tap the option to go to my txt messages. Once there I will open the keyboard and type the message... Okay here is where I think there is a problem... If I press the home button from the keyboard half of my right screen will go black... but like a second later it will go back to normal.

I don't know if this is normal? Like the screen is just trying to adjust or whatever?

It only happens if I do it that way. If I press the back button from the keyboard the screen will remain the same and nothing happens.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have the capacitive button issue, primarily with the back button. If this isn't happening to everyone then I'll try replacing the hardware.

Is a known issue for some units but not others. If you can exchange, you may get one that works better.

EPIC 4G safety issue! When the audio jack is plugged in, the phone's microphones are disabled and the phone cannot switch to any other output method. When a call is in progress, there are buttons that appear to be intended to allow the user to switch the output to speakerphone or bluetooth but those buttons will not function properly unless the audio jack is unplugged. I left a trouble ticket with Samsung 2007-713-975 and with sprint, but they don't have case numbers. I urge everyone to do the same. Going to bother Sprint on Twitter as well. Let's get this fixed ASAP.

Ok, can anyone tell me whats the story with the stock email application? Gmail push works fine but i have yahoo and aim email accounts that i can only add to the email app and although i have them set to check for new messages every 5 mins, i never get notifications. I have to open up the email app and manually refresh to receive.

My Yahoo account doesn't even get added to the stock email app... I always get an error when trying to set it up and add it as an account so it's an afterthought for me... I just use the Yahoo Mail app... I have my complaints about it but for the most part it's pretty okay...

After installing the OTA update, I've noticed certain apps (both free and purchased ones) no longer show up in the market and I have no way to redownload them onto the phone. Fandango, Exchange by Touchdown KEY, Samsung Desktop Dock Application, Logmein, Pure Calendar Widget, and Slingplayer aren't showing up for me. I've read reprots for NY Times and Gameloft games apps no longer showing up either.

My EPIC freezes multiple times a day where I have to do a battery pull. It gets quite frustrating considering I would like to use it as an alarm clock to wake me up in the morning, only to find out it freezes overnight. Does anyone else have this issue? Should I go back to stock and see if that fixes it or should I just go get a replacement?

I have noticed the same issue. Samsung Car app also no longer in app store, espn fantasy football, espn radio, radiotime ( although the free version tunein radio is there ). Very strange, I hope it gets fixed soon.

I have the same issue. I am under 30 days and took it back to Best Buy and guess what? With a invisible shield on it, it's unbearable again. I can deal with some of the other software issues but if this is a hardware problem as it relates to this part of the capacitive screen, my unit may go back until more Evo's come available.

Today I noticed that I am able to press and "click" my screen like a button. If anyone is familiar with the Blackberry Storm/Storm2, it's similar to that. While typing on the virtual keyboard I can hear and feel the screen being depressed slightly along with a clicking noise. Anyone else experience this?

Software update isn't a physical change. Your screen "touch" should be exactly the same.

Are you all sure about the GPS? I've heard it was a problem with Gmaps. I have Skydroid (a golf GPS app) that I compared one day with my dedicated Golf GPS device and the Epic was giving the same data. I even edited the map for that course and put in the edge of a water hazard and on the course I walked up to the edge of it and the EPIC said it was within 1 yard.

I had this problem also. I did a factory restore, and it was working great for about 3 days until it froze again. I went back to Best Buy and got a new one. This one is working much better.

Yeah at this rate this Epic will be going back to the store as of this weekend!
