M Logo Replacement Area

I'm about to make a custom one for my Droid X and had a quick question. Is this a change that I would need to revert before upgrading, for example when gingerbread arrives for the Droid X? Can you make (or link me to) a .zip of the original Motorala "M" in case I want to revert?

You would not need to revert. If you want the X stock one its in the first few pages. The red M is going to be used on new phones so you could use that also.

Thanks for the information! One more question;

I've completed my image, replaced the logo.bin in the .zip file with it and installed the .zip from sd card in recovery mode but the stock M remains. Do I need to mount system or is there a problem with my image? I can upload or email you my .zip for you to check out if you like.

EDIT - Nevermind. I replaced it within the .zip using 7-zip instead of ExtractNow and it worked like a charm. Now that I've got it down, any requests?

Wow this is almost at 6,000 views. Keep what you want coming! Found a nice image of the bee flying into the new red M logo that I will have up later.

Here we have the new red M with the bee flying into it. Was used for some Honeycomb talk. Photo is flipped so the bee will be on the other side.

The animation can be found here with more colors. You will need to edit the Desc file for the screen size.

Bootanimations ? droidpirate.com

Following the instructions to replace the animation on the page you linked to, I can't get it to work. When I try to delete my current boot animation (or paste the new one over the old one) it says, "bootanimation.zip cannot be deleted because the file system is read-only".
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

with root explorer you need to click the top right box. It should say Mount R/W. Hit that and you can now write files and rename files. Hit that button then hit your old one and click rename. Name it bootanimation.bak to save it. Then paste the new one and your good.
