Moto X 2014 Cases!

Just rec'd my moto x2 with teak wood finish around the new year. Its a beautiful thing, something I don't want to hide or obscure, so I bought a $3.25 clear cover on Ebay, which does show off the beauty of the phone. Problem is, its not very protective around the edges and is so slippery, it keeps sliding out of my pocket when I'm sitting; almost lost the phone several times for just this reason. It won't stay put on the dash of my car while driving, either. What I want is a clear case that is protective and has some grip to it to keep it from sliding out of my pocket and off the dashboard. The case-mate naked tough seems to meet all my criteria. Any other suggestions?

The Case Mate Naked Tough case is definitely top notch. Another case you may want to try is the Case Mate Hula bumper. It lacks the back, but is also fairly protective.

The hula was my first choice until I decided I want to protect the wood surface, too.

The naked tough case arrived today. I like how it protects the sides, back of phone, lifts face of phone from surface a bit, and gives some traction from sliding when face-down. Also like feel of buttons. My only criticism is that phone still slides too easily from my front pants pockets when sitting. Someone should combine the best features of the naked and the hula.

Have you tried the Case mate Gelli Case? I have all three case mate cases and I did a nice comparison/review thread. Anyway, the Jelli Case has a grippier back, so it doesn't slide around as much. The two down sides are that the back isn't completely clear like the naked, and the buttons feel pretty mushy with the case on. Overall I think all three of the case mate options are great, and I'd venture to say they offer the highest quality options. They are definitely better than the cheap sub $10 cases.

Has anyone tried the Ballistic case? I am thinking of buying one to replace my Diztronic case.

Just called them and found out that the ports are exposed. Kind of a deal breaker for me.

I got this case for my Moto X Gen2.
I want to remove that hazy back on this case and make transparent/clear.

The last time I came here, I read somebody sharing an idea for making hazy backs clear..
Does anyone know how to do it?

You may be able to wet sand it with fine grit sand paper in a linear motion then buff it out. Do not use a circular motion while sanding. This will result in swirls showing on the finished product after buffing. I am an auto mechanic, and in the auto industry clouded headlights are restored this way and made nearly clear again.

I cannot attest to this working on the case as I have never tried it on a cell phone case, but it would certainly be worth a shot.

Also, has anyone seen an ENTIRELY CLEAR TPU case for this phone? I mean CLEAR, not frosted, or partially clear, but a TOTALLY CLEAR TPU case.

I don't mind if it's frosted on the sides but I want the back to be TOTALLY CLEAR.

You would think this would be a no-brainer for a phone that most people will buy with a customized color scheme but for some reason the case I'm looking for isn't jumping out at me.

Thanks!

Yup, I bought this same one. I can't post links, so Google "newegg Motorola MOTO X (2014 version) Case - eForCity TPU Cover for Motorola Moto X 2014, Clear TPU". The product page says the case is "clear" but it is in fact frosted as the pictures show.

So, as a warning to anyone looking at this case, it is NOT clear as the Newegg page indicates.

Has ANYONE found an entirely-clear (well, clear back at least) TPU case for this thing? You would think that would be a no-brainer but I have not been able to find one.

I'm looking for just a bumper but can't find the white hula I want, or even a cheapie bumper, anywhere on the internet for this phone. Wtf???
