Mine is still reporting as up to date. However I been busy with a lot of personal stuff as of late. So it will come when it gets here.

Android Central & other "news" outlets ought to actually try validating their information sources before posting headlines like they did for this one, especially when there is information from people who actually work for the company involved. Read my previous post that links to David Schuster's (of Motorola) Google+ post. So, for the 5 billionth time since this became "news":

This is NOT a full, staged rollout of 5.1 worldwide! It is a SOAK TEST on the Pure Edition in the USA. The only place that is in final staged rollout is Brazil.

That's why everyone isn't receiving it yet. I haven't seen posts by many folks who have actually gotten the update (it looks like a select few, which suggests that Schuster's post is in fact correct) -- most have sideloaded the leaked files that were posted to XDA.

Let's hope the full rollout begins soon, but it could take a week or more if they find more bugs.

Yep, I pulled the zip and posted thinking this was a full rollout. This does seem to be a soak test. I guess I was just lucky enough to get it . 5.1 has been performing great so far. No annoying bugs, the chop for flashlight is really convenient, low light pics seem a bit better, and overall the phone seems a bit snappier. Not sure about battery life yet, need to give it a few days to see. Hopefully they will start the full rollout soon.

I am still waiting for an update from 5.0. I purchased my Moto X (2014) directly from Motorola.com. It's the Pure Edition and I am using it on the T-Mobile network.

5.0 is still the official version for the Pure Edition. They are still soak testing the 5.1 version.

I have had the soak test for 5.0 back when it was being tested. However I want 5.1 on my PE X 14'. Any way to force upgrade it VIA OTA?

I flashed 5.1 ages ago. A nice improvements from 5.0 with memory leaks.

Not sure if it's just my device but my battery is pretty poor. Lasts only about half a day.

Update 5/27/2015: Select users on Retail US (22.21.11.victara_tmo.tmo.en.US tmo) can download and install Android 5.1.

I wanted to give an update on where we are with the Moto X (2nd Gen) soak testing. We ended up detecting an issue that we want to correct prior to moving to full deployment. We already have identified the fix and are in the process of testing internally this coming week and expect to submit to carrier labs for a quick approval the following week.

Yes. The build for the PE in the USA is still in soak test. When they've fixed whatever bug it is that's mentioned in the Google+ post by David Schuster, I'm sure they'll wrap up the soak and start the official rollout.

Feeling betrayed by Motorola

Part of the deal which made me choose the Moto X, was the promise of Nexus like upgrades. Yes, I wanted to be on the Android bleeding edge.

So what do I read this morning? Samsung, the company that pretty well invented bloatware, is rolling out 5.11!!! We haven't got 5.1 yet, and they will be 2 generations ahead. Wtf?
